I hear loads of different ways of calling your mother

Especially in the UK it varies as you move up and down
    the country.

So which is the most popular

What do you call your mother (keep it clean, I know
I've left this open to all sorts...)

Mum, definitely. However, it doesn't really matter very much.

In England it'll probably be Mum or Mam. In Australia it'll be mum. In the US their strange language dictates that it be Mom... I don't know why.

In our family it is mother. Our grandmother was called mama (Spanish pronunciation). When my mother became a grandmother we were going to have her called mama as well. Granchild could not say mama it came out mooma which were shortened to moo.

the reason I started this is because I am from the south of England and call my mum "mum" - my wife is from central England and calls her mum "mom" (and spells it like that on cards and such.

Just wondering the consensus (of course I didnt count for worldwide fluctuations......)

I say "mom" but you know what's wierd? My mom has been 19 for like 30 years now. Every birthday I ask her - how old are you? - and she says 19. I'm older than her now. I think she's not telling the truth :p

You need to add 'mother dearest' to that list.
