Manual link building/submissions is the best way to do it.

I agree with Master- Yoda , Manual submissions is the best way to do it, and but what my experience is that manual submission should also not be more than 20 per day. In that way it can be called Human Edited which is more important for World Top Search Engines.

Can you show me where you have done a study that shows that anything more than 20 submissions hurts results?

I commonly submit to well over a few hundred each day for my own websites, and they are doing great.

    Let me know :)

Yep, I am slightly baffled at this also.

I have just another thread with a post that claimed 30-40 MAX posts in day.

    Surely it's infinity posts?? :D

I don't think it is the volumn but the source. Blogs and Forums seem to have no daily limit. Linkbuilding from other sites (one way directories or reciprocal linking) is the source Google doesn't like not the quantity.

We just recommend to keep it at a consistant rate.

Roboform is very helpful in manual submission. You should use that tool.

For me the best link building tools are keyboard and mouse with healthy doses of 'googling'.

For me, it's roboform :) A very great tool for building one-way links through directories.
