I was just thinking..wouldn't it be the coolest thing if adsense have a product that allows publishers to use their pub-IDs on toolbars? We can allow users to download the toolbars from our website and everytime they make a search and click a sponsor, we get paid. I would promote the toolbar heavily then.
Definately would be a good idea, I think mozilla are already making an absolute fortune from this very principle
With the Firefox - Google Toolbar combo i think. It is heavily promoted to use the Google toolbar with firefox.

im not sure if it would be allowed though if it is then its great, would be surely benificial to publishers, to my mind google would allow to only publishers with huge traffic.

TOS is made up by human beings. I'm sure if Google can recognize the benefits, they can come up with something. The situation now is that I want to promote Firefox browser but I don't have any software/webmaster related sites that will convert nicely. So let's say I have a site about dogs. I'd put a download link to my site that says "We recommend searching more about dogs using the Google toolbar". I don't get paid for the download but when the installer uses the toolbar to make a search and click on an ad, I get paid. Kind of works like Google search, just that it's on a toolbar. Google could come up with a web-based control panel (likely within adsense login) like www.effectivebrand.com for us to generate the download. It's definitely possible and would be a dream come true!! One small problem though. I don't know if Google is willing to share this huge pie.... Wrote and article and submitted to Digg.

Don't get the wrong idea, i'm not saying publishers should be the one enforcing this. Adsense should start it. There'll be no cutting and pasting of codes, manipulating of codes etc. See what happens when you make a search from google toolbar. Google results appear along with sponsored results and when those get clicked, who gets paid? Google. So how about sharing some of that with publishers who help to promote their toolbar? Sounds fair and square to me..
That's not quite new idea. Yes, you can build this kind of toolbal with besttoolbars.net It works if you have a large community site.
anyway, people who done it got banned. LOL well, if google start it, The spam toolbar can do it too. A lot of hijack ware brought people to adsense site already.
