You can try you luck at freelance sites. I think the best stable income can be earned at freelance sites. You can do data entry jobs, copywriting jobs and many other kind of work that is available at such sites.
You can earn a stable income by setting up a landing page a promote a good affiliate product. Then you can buy traffic from a serious PPC company. If course it's not as easy as it sounds... But if the affiliate company that you're using pays and the advertising company is solid, then you will definitely start making a stable income
If your site has stable amount of traffic, then income should be stable. Regular updates give more stability.
internet income is not really stable except you have established stable traffic sites. freelance is a good way to get a job but it also depend on how hard working you are and you could job the job or not. If you want a stable income I suggest to to find a normal day job in the office and work online for parttime at the beginning.
You can try writing for article/blog communities. You just provide content then they will take care of the traffic. Some of my earnings come from them. It's a bit slow but a sure way to earn money online. Others hire writers to increase their content very fast. Once you have hundreds or thousands, it will become a good steady income monthly.

I find affiliate income is not steady enough for me. You have spend a lot on PPC (Google Adwords) to guarantee money from affiliates

stable income is not 100% stable if this is what you're looking for. every business has it's good and bad moments. the only thing you need to do is to adapt to the market. putting ads is one way but it's not so stable. it depends on your website niche and your website traffic. you can also try affiliate marketing , or freelance sites.
