funnyexam.com it's a website full of funny test answers. The website is only a month old and it's already popular. How do people find it? It's only full of pictures, I don't understand how the company could do SEO or anything.
Well they probably have a huge advertising budget and also viral marketing my friend. People go on it like the fact that is funny exam and guess what the word spreads!
Good content always wins over people building sites merely for money. Let the content show your PASSION.
5,366 external links certainly help: http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?p=funnyexam.com&bwm=i&bwmo=d&bwmf=s Plus it has a great deal of viral appeal. Perform some Google-fu to see how they are marketing the site, who's talking about it, and if any paid traffic is coming to it.
its kinda cool site...though it contains a lot of pictures, it gains a lot of popularity because it has a good appeal and relevant content...
Well thats a big amount of backlinks and the Que arise how they get this much of backlinks in very short spam if time ?
Check through the links. I'm sure when you start looking at the links and the way they are placed on the site, it will spark your own creative thinking about how you can achieve the same result or more. That's how I learned everything about IM - reverse engineering. Likely a good chunk of it, anyway. It's exactly the kind of site that would appeal to what people are doing when hanging out on social bookmarking sites...wasting time.
They seem to own several domains with the same concept. Just check their backlinks . Humor is a great viral marketing technique, if you get one site popular in social media websites the "web" will do the rest.
It was probably promoted by ppc first... then by the word of mouth A lot of people will tell their friends about good websites that they find.
So you guys agree that most of the traffic resulted from good content? Here's how I found the website: i just typed in funny exam answers and i found it. "funny exam answers" has 22 million results in google too. Let's pretend I created funnyexam.com and I wanted to market the website. Here's how I'd try to get traffic: 1. Submit to Reddit and Digg 2. Get a twitter and build it to 10k followers, then posting on twitter whenever a new picture is released. 3. Forum signature 4. Pictures with keyword descriptions I'd say if enough people from social bookmarking sites see the pictures, they would do the link building for me. What would I be missing in the above steps for marketing funnyexam.com? (remember, i don't own the site, i'm just trying to learn how these sites do it)
