I am interested in making a trade forums. More of a market place forums where webmasters can sell items, trade. like selling websites, domains, or other content, trading items... or other like market place or link selling, exchanging. Not webmaster forums but just for buying, selling and trading. I saw a few domains that interested me. market-place.us trade-point.us trademarket.us trade-center.us But, its .us and I am from India, will I be allowed to hold? Any other suitable domain for suggestions?
Sorry, I don't think you can use a .us. traderforum.in & tradeforum.tv are available. Try namecheap.com and click the box that says 'Search all available TLDs '
Why not? Except for the fact that I would look for a .com name anyways and try to build a successful brandname, I don't know why it shouldn't be o.k. for him to register a .us domain? There are exceptions from this like del.icio.us. Who would have thought of registering icio.us anyways?
Definitely go for a .com or .net if possible. Once the name is out there, people will always gravitate to the .com purely by habit. Try and come up with something original as well. xxx-point has been done enough. (digitalpoint, sitepoint, etc) Making your site unique is what will attract more members. Just my 2 cents of course
^^^Excellent. And I totally agree now. -point is common or whatever was its already the fame at digitalpoint and sitepoint. Every name i search, .com is taken I believe, 3 extentions are popular, .com, .net and .org Anyways, i know that by habbit people goto .com ... yup.. even i do that whenever i get only the name of a site. Can someone help with some domain names? I tried to get a few more names. traderforum.org (.net and .com taken) tradeforums.net / tradeforums.org (.com taken) marketplaceforums.net / marketplace.org (.com taken) webtradeforums.net / webtradeforums.org ( any other suits?
This is a very good idea. It will make your name more memorable. And it is more likely you could find a .com Like tradehog.com or marketmonkey.com or marketingsharks.com. Dont know if these are available or not, or if you even like them, just tossing out some ideas. If one is not available try the plural of the animal, like tradehogs.com instead of tradehog.com You will also have a great oppotunity to create a nice logo graphic.
I think that would be your best bet. Your domain name should be something fun that people will remember easily.
How about something along the lines of Webmaster Marketplace ? Obviously try synonyms, plurals, word variations, etc to see whats available. Thats what I call the marketplace section of my forum.
I'd go with the animal idea as well not only do you get a memorable name but you can also get a great logo. try something like trademonkey.com
I caught hold of 2 names that impresses me. tradepointforum.com webtradechat.com I couldnt make any good name with animal.. trademonkey.com and net already taken. If I use tradepointforum.. its more pointing to a market place forum .... and webtradechat sounds like a webmaster forums having trading market place section too. Which should i choose among those 2?
TradePointForum is pretty good but too long for my taste. I usually use some domain name suggestion tools, where you can enter a bunch of words and it tries to find synonyms and forms domain suggestions. dealsfox.com is available and much shorter (didn't put too much effort into finding this name)
