I think this is a must. Who doesn't do this?
I don't even have ads on my homepage as it messes up the coding and the site goes blank no matter where I put them.
I only have ads in individual posts and usually 1 at top, and one at the bottom, or near download links or other focal points of the post.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize you actually meant Blogger itself.
I thought it was just bloggers.

No not against TOS, Google adsense advises publishers to do that :)

Did you see the whole video?
AdSense ads aren't seen on the index or archive pages.
However, if you go into the source code of these pages, you can see the code for the ads.

Would this or would this not be against tos?

    Sounds ignorant.

Anyway, I'm not commenting about the video.. but what i was generally referring to my previous post is that blending and putting the adsense codes in the middle of the content of the page or the blog is not against any of AdSense TOS. They even encourage publishers to do that.

This "heat map" illustrates the ideal placing on a sample page layout. The colors fade from dark orange (strongest performance) to light yellow (weakest performance). All other things being equal, ads located above the fold tend to perform better than those below the fold. Ads placed near rich content and navigational aids usually do well because users are focused on those areas of a page.

    I hope that helps.

I was going to say the same thing. Showing the chart was a great idea though.
    I didn't think of that. :)

Glad you liked the video. I thought about shortening it up. I was too lazy though. :)

This is HUGE news for Blogger users if this little trick
does not violate AdSense TOS. Do you know if this trick would?

Have never tried to place my own Adsense in the posts as obviously you can just integrate your own Adsense widgets.

I have noticed though that when posting in HTML mode you can use java and it works displaying shopping widgets and what not. If you move from HTML to normal text then it never works properly. I just wonder if you add your own Google Adsense and publish in HTML mode... will this display?

Have never tried this before. Can't view that Youtube video as there's a block here at work, but does that video tell you adjust your Blogger source code or is it much easier as pointed out above? With that heat map, Blogger users don't have such scope with the cr@ppy two columns, would have to track down a better template.

That was a nice video and great to watch something that we can do... or not do. for me I would not try it until I am very much sure it si not against Google adsense TOS. hiding the the adsense codes to me is against TOS but I am not sure about that... I will follow this thread and see what the whiz guys says.

    Thanks for sharing
