Site listed in google but not yet for keywords

I can see my site in google when i search for my site name, but no placement when searching for keywords I'm listed for.

Does it take time for keywords to get placed, after site is indexed?

as all said its based ont he keyword and its popularity.. if th ekeyword is competative will take long time to listed... Any how use any third party rank checker to get the exact position of ur keywpord

 

all you have to do is compete your targeted kw/s... use your targeted kw as your text link when you build links..
