Just wanna know how many of think google is spying on you. It is alleged that google makes the ip profile of every pc which include the search terms he/she has searched for. In documentaries based on google they were always asked about it but every time google staff gives a smile and never tell yes or no to the question.
Big Brother Is Watching, I wish there was a way to boycott google and facebook, its too much information in one place. both site track everything. where is the privacy in that? too bad that there's no competition and we need them to surf and to get ranked. i dont use facebook but google is hard to boycott.
Theres no way to boycott but the obvious fact is they do spy. You should never keep confident infos on gmail [that is scanned totally, you see context ads right?], google docs nor ever use gmail for your company with its domain. The good thing is theyr spying is [atm] no harm to normal people..
Their business is related to information, so Google must get the information from somewhere. Do they try to identify you personally? Obviously, there are trying to be more present into our lives. For example, Google StreetView. This might look like spying.
I think that Google doesn't make such things, the information they get about the users it's a good source for trends and ideas to offer better free services.
yeah they are surely spying on us , they have our ip address system configuration And what ever we are searching on internet
Google only cares about making money. They may spy a bit for useful information to them, but only if it can cause an increase in revenue. If you're worried or something don't give google access to your personal info.
That is the essential question. Google is only after money and yes...it has vast network to collect information but it uses it to offer more services, to bring in more revenue! Spying is a bit tough word as the information collected is huge and pertains to individuals from all over the world. They are more interested in the aggregate summary of this information and not of any particular individual...I guess! Regards, RightMan
Of course they're spying on you! Check out their new tos for adsense and the double dart cookie! They very clearly state that they're spying on you. Additionally, they have plans for a new Gphone which will track your location and deliver local ads to your phone. If you're walking down the Las Vegas strip you might get an ad delivered to your phone with the Luxor's promotions, or something similar. They read your email, track your clicks, track your location, track your calls to 1-800-goog-411 (if you're not familiar with this you should use it, it rocks!). Does any of this spying really matter to you? It shouldn't because the spying doesn't identify you as a private person, you're just a demographic. The only way to keep companies like google from spying on you is to run off of a proxy, keep java disabled, don't use email, and never sign up for anything online, ever! Basically you can accept that you're part of a global demographic database, or you can drop out of society all-together. there's not much of an alternative. You can opt out of the new google double dart cookie though. Just google (hehe) "google double dart cookie opt out" and you should be able to find the opt out page.
Big deal. I collect search terms entered by users on all my websites too. I can't think of many websites that don't track SOMETHING it's users do. Programs/applications more so.
