Why I get "500 - Internal Server Error" message in my website? Is this the problem of traffic? or the hosting company is not good? It is a VPS hosting package and it also says that "Load Warning on server1.******.com, Load on server1.******.com is 26.07 at 2009-05-02 05:05 which is greater than 20" what is the problem and why is the message?
It is not good to get 500 internal server error. Generally this error occurs if you have bad code in .htaccess but if you are receiving this error frequently then it may possible that Apache is unable to handle all requests. You will need check apache configuration as well as logs to find the root cause of the issue. Kailash
Hello. I think the most sensible thing to do is to ask your hosting company, as apparently there is a problem with the server load. There should be a Support Department to which you may address your query. If you have already tried this solution, then tell us the whole story. Cheers.
I have asked the hosting support department, but they responded saying : what can i do for that problem? Any one can help?
VPS contracts are usually not entitled to receive support on matters related with the internal management of the server. However, they have pointed you in direction of the Apache Web server. So I think you should begin by RTFM. Here is a link: Apache documentation
As per the error message, it can be concluded that you got internal server errors due to CPU load(load more than 20). If this occurs frequently, then change your webhost since your web host might have oversold the VPSes on the same dedicated server or they are not isolated properly.
Yes, it may be good. I think the webhost is bad. But the total daily visit of those sites is one thousand per day.
