    Hi,

I thought of sharing some of the factors which affect the rank of a particular page. They are:

    1. Duplicate Content
    2. Keyword Stuffing(spamming)
    3.Participation in Link Schemes
    5.Inbound Links from Spam Sites
    6.Inaccessible server(often 404)
    7.External Links to Spam Sites
8.Duplicate Title/Meta Tags on Many Pages
    9.Very Slow Server Response Times
    10.Low Traffic

Others are invited to share their views on the same.... :)

I agree on 9 factors, but low traffic doesnt seem to make a difference.

perhaps you should break it up into factors which impact positively, and factors which impact negatively.

Does the source of the link make the most impact?

Can Google tell if a site is Good or Bad, on topic or not and therefore get more benefit from a link.

I would imagine OBL from a site make a difference also.

    Absolutely on ALL counts...

Google can tell if a site is a Good or Bad site... Each site has a "domain trust" factor. They know if you're linking to bad sites they are currently under a Google penalty for violating their guidelines.

They can also tell if the page that links to you is "on topic". Everything they look at concerning relevance to rank your URL for a particular keyword phrase (<title>, <h1>, <h2>s, content, inbound link text, etc) they can ALSO look at for each of the pages which links to your URL to see if THOSE pages are relevant...

And outbound links from you site to trusted or untrusted sites can impact your "domain trust" factor positively or negatively, respectively.

So what would you say is the maximum amount of keywords in a page?

Also, links. Are you saying i'm better off not letting friends etc link to my site from their non-related pages that have A link from them?

Surely a link from a non-related page to a page with at least some pr is preferable.
