How to use twitter for traffic

Hi....pretty new to this...would like to know how does one go about using twiiter to generate traffic....have registered & have a few links on it, also a few followers...what else can be done to divert traffic to my site

 

If you are looking to generate traffic from twitter, you need at least 1000 followers. So, try to increase your twitter followers. Post informative and entertaining updates in your twitter updates. There are lots of directories where you can add your twitter profile.

 

Can you please elaborate more clearly what you want to say about twitter to generate traffic. I have tried doing bookmarkings on this site but its not working. Is it possible to add the twitter profile in directories I mean does it work that way to get traffic.

 

+ find followers (start from friends)
+ post interesting content (links, meanings)
+ retwit valuable users
+ promote twitter account on other site that you own

If you have 1000s of followers, and you post a link and interesting content that they are interested in, there is a good chance they check out your post. If they like what your linking to etc, they might repost it to their 1000s of visitors. Its a domino effect if done correctly.

Once you find followers start interacting with them, re-tweet others, talk to people they are interested in, if you have blog, integrate rss feeds with twitter, it will help you to show regular update of your blogs and increase on traffic.

 

Sounds very interesting! I will definitely try this out. But I think, it's hard to find a 1000 followers so I really think that this is very time consuming.

Also, I think that having an attractive and catchy status might as well convert for some clicks because people will surely get curious of what you've got.

 

Remember Twitter is a personable platform, so you need to act like "one of the guys"...respond to other tweets, be friendly, and don't spam your Twitter with links.

If you build your following, interact truthfully, and tweet links every so often (like once a day...1 link every 5 tweets) the traffic will come. Make sure not to use too many promotional phrases, otherwise you'll be branded a spammer.

The key to traffic is having a lot of followers. Period.

It's rare to get more than 2% click-through on any given link (so 1,000 followers would earn you 20 clicks). But 1% is more likely. Even if you have a very "interesting" Tweet, it usually won't get more clicks than 4% of the # of followers you have unless you hit a nerve, trigger a retweet bonanza, and engage the "Twitter Effect".

Thus if you have 100,000 followers following you on your account (or 10,000 followers on 10 accounts) then you could expect to get as much as 2,000 clicks on your link. That's where the real power comes in.

Get followers and all the rest falls in place.

 

First and foremost, make sure that your followers are your target audience. WHile the more followers you have the better, the better they are targeted, the better results you'll get, period.

Also have a separate Twitter account for each, specific goal and/or website you have in mind.

Meaning if you have a site BlueWidgets.com, make a Twitter.com/bluewidgets account. You can also go so far as to have multiple accounts (bluewidgetsnews, bluewidgetsecrets, bluewidgetinfo, etc) to maximize your exposure.

Tweet regularly, but not often. And take your time in thoroughly pimping out your site. Mix your informative tweets in at at least a 2:1 ratio of tweets that link back to your site. That makes it less obvious that you're "using" Twitter for traffic.

Use news feeds and tools like Google Trends, Yahoo Buzz, Reddit, Mixx, and Digg to find and tweet news about your bluewidgets as soon as possible after the news breaks. Encourage conversation by asking for opinions about the news you find.

 

Don't listen to these ppl saying you need X followers
You could get more traffic from 10 ppl following you that you interact with, vs 1000 followers that don't read your post.

What you need is ppl that will ReTweet (RT) your post, I also suggest getting an account with cli.gs or bit.ly so you can track what links are getting clicks and when they are getting clicked

Build up your account, INTERACT with ppl, that's what social sites are for

Also, having a different twitter account for every blog/site is imperative and shouldn't even be an option in anyones eyes.

 

Dear friend you can use Twitter for increase traffic to your site. Just simple increase your followers and post new content and link daily basis You will definitely get results.

 

What if we don't have a lot of followers? No other way?

 

having a lot of followers are not really going to bring in traffic. What I have noticed is I get a lot of traffic whenever I write something about twiter.

You need to have targeted people following you. If you have an authority site and people follow you cause they like your site then it is targeted traffic coming your way. there are peopl out there following you just to get more followers
