If you need some quick cash, I'll buy sites up to $400 cash today! Site must have proven revenue as well as traffic from SE's. Willing to buy at 2 to 4 months revenue, depending on sector, age of site etc. Feel free to post in this thread as if I don't want to buy, maybe someone else will.

Please make sure to post only sites that are making at least $80 month profit (revenue - expenses).

you will probably need more than 400 dollars to afford a site like that. maybe 600-900 dollars is what it will cost (most of the time)

Nah, plenty of sites go for the 3 to 4 months revenue, especially new sites. I see them quite often actaully selling for this multiple. Of course what people ask for ( 6-12 months revenue) and what the market values the sites at are quite different.

I dunno - I'd have to agree with libertygone in saying you need more budget for sites that make $100 a month...

Last person I talked to about this sort of thing said they price a site at 10 time the monthly revenue.

    Good luck anyway :D

    >>10 times monthly revenue.

Sure, on old established customer base built in sites with recurring revenues such as subscriptions, renewals etc. Not for new struggling sites.

I don't see any reason for somebody to sell a site in $400 if it is making $100+

A new struggling site isnt making $100 a month. If its new and is doing that its thriving in my eyes.

Agreed - only a stupid webmaster would sell a site making $100/month for $200~400...

I have to disagree in this sense. I do most of my advertising through myspace bulletins...if I post bulletins all day a NEWLY launched site can get $5 of revenue the VERY FIRST DAY. now if I dont do anything the next day...ill probably make 50 cents. So if I keep doing the same thing for a month it will make $150 for that month...does that mean the site is worth $150 x's 9?

Well people will look at where the traffic is coming from before making a purchase on a site anyway. If the site has most of its traffic coming from SEs then I suppose 10 months revenue makes sense (dont forget its not my pricing scheme but someone elses that I talked to).

I personally wouldnt even consider buying a site that has to have constant MySpace bulletins posted to get traffic. It's too much hassle and also you'll get a lot of people accusing you of spam - which it is IMO.

If you guys want to start a thread about what a site is worth go ahead, but I'd appreciate it if you take your opinions to that thread.

I'm here merely trying to help those out that post everyday, " I need to sell my site, help I need cash". If I'm offering to buy, of course I'm not going to go with what people are asking as 75% of the time, the multiple is not more than 6 months revenue of what the actual transaction is when someone is trying to get 10 months. Make sense?

Now go start your own thread on what a site is worth.

You guys are being a bit hard on eljefe3. Doesn't hurt to try. Plus, a site can "make" $100 a month in a lot of different ways. Give a new site a prominent link from one of your other high traffic sites. Throw a couple of short term paid ad campaign it's way. So on. All short term, but technically would qualify.

Plus, a lot of people don't want to fool with creating a listing, doing the sales copy, putting together all the stats and rev screenshots, etc.. I know the few sites I've sold on SP I've put that off for weeks because to me it's a PITA, just not my thing. Might get a few lazy people like me to reply to an offer like his just to save the hassle of marketing the site yourself.

Of course, your best bet is to offer to buy sites that have little or no revenue, but some quality traffic. Then work your monetizational magic on it <g>. That's what I plan on offering to do once I have enough #$#@ posts on DP to "qualify" to start a new thread here.
