Long long ago online market lived an affiliate. One day he went to a vendor and asked some information about the conversion and the price. After knowing these he started driving traffic to sell the product and he said he can make about 40 sales. At the end of the day he returned to the vendor and said he only made 26 sales and the conversion was not as good as the vendor said. After hearing this, the vendor started calculating for the affiliate and told him that the overall profits is almost the same. …… Now the problem comes to us. Why so many affiliates focus on the conversion only? As I have said in another thread about "how to be the left 10% who make big money". I think they focus on overall profits, thus they become the left 10%.
I dont get it either sorry Are you trying to say that even if you sell a lower converting product with higher payout you will make more than if you sell a high converting product with lower payout?
i don't get it either sorry ... the fact is, the vendor's average conversion doesn't have a huge amount to do with your conversion, because it is the quality of the traffic that you drive to the vendor's page that will have more of an influence
Yeah, I agree. A lot of people concentrate on conversions instead on ROI. All that matters is: Are you making profit?
You are the first one to agree with me. Thanks. Yah, we have made profit. We focus on ROI. It is good.
Absolutely true. A $40 payout at 1:100 ($40 profit) is better than a $10 payout at 1:50 ($20 profit). Conversion is NOT everything. Although with that said, conversion is more important to people who are driving traffic with free methods. ROI is something that is much easier to measure if you're actually spending money on ads.
I would like to learn how to make 26 sales in a single day. I've been bombing at conversion. I'm in the hole so far with ppc.
longblog - it's all about targeting. You have to buy ads on keywords which will show for people who are looking for something specific. Hopefully, that something will be the product you're promoting. It's no good throwing something up for "dog training". There's no way of knowing if that person is looking to buy a course on dog training, or if they want pictures of dog training. But, "buy dog training ebook" is a pretty safe bet that they're your target market. And of course then you have to play Google's game of quality score - well grouped and focused ads and keywords and landing pages.
To me conversion rate is so important coz i am using bum marketing and free methods so there is nothing about ROI to me.
