I have a range of different themed blogs, forums and websites - today I've done a big download from the reports in Adsense CPanel. So, here are my best and worst performing keywords over the past 8 months. I know most people wouldn't divulge info like this, but I hope this info will be an interesting read for the beginner. Basically, I've pulled all of the data from my channels and worked out the average value of a click from this channel. Top 10 Channel Name Average Value of click forums.digitalpoint.com $0.92 blog-my shopping vouchers $0.74 (shopping Vouchers) blog-you-cube LR t&i $0.70 (you-cube networking) blog-premier league 08 $0.58 (football theme) make-money-online.forum7 L t&i $0.54 (make money forum) MMO forum (728x90 text) $0.51 (make money forum) blog-seo helpdesk $0.46 (SEO blog) blog j1-make-money-online $0.44 (make money blog) blog-my money exp $0.41 (make money blog) blog-solicitor info $0.40 (local blog) omg! DP has given me the highest value per click!!! However, I've only ever had 3 clicks on here, so I can't retire yet . I didn't realise my shopping vouchers blog was bringing in a good amount per click, so that was suprising. A football blog with $0.58 average was also a nice suprise. Worst Performing Channels premier league football forum $0.08 (football forum) blog-i-cybloxx $0.06 (networking blog) blog-view-from (link) $0.05 (football blog) blog-google pr 10 $0.04 (SEO blog) blog-time for puzzles $0.02 (games/puzzles blog) Here are my worst performing channels. I have many channels that haven't earned anything yet, but I've not included them. I hope this has been an interesting read
I have also found that clicks from revenue sharing sites, pay me more, than clicks from my blogs. I am pretty sure that Adsense pays high trust sites more than small blogs.
You brought out some interesting ideas. Probably I should try those sharing sites and hopefully i can share with loot.
Targeted vs. General. Better payout. I find everything adsense a tracking challenge. I have a single page for a specific niche. I have a single block of ads on this one page I've been testing. Yesterday one click on that page scored $1.59 and another 10 cents. Take advantage of ad filtering to block out all the general ads, and be careful of ads with very specific titles that have very general destination URL's in them. Places like Target do that all the time. They run ads that are spot on in the title but redirect to a general page and pay you very little.
It was more than interesting, this was very kind of you. How do I download keyword stats from the AdSense CP? Didn't know we had that!
Please take this as constructive criticism which it is. From your stats., it is obvious to me that you need to go back to the drawing board as far as keyword research is concerned. You are throwing your efforts away by being in the wrong niches. Please read the thread in my sig. for a more comprehensive example and don't be afraid to sell off the web properties that just aren't performing and start again. TomG.
thank you, i'm pleased you enjoyed it. The big download was simply just an advanced report in the adsense account home, and it was broken down into my channels (names given) -- the keywords given in brackets are just the ones associated with that channel
thanks for your advice. I'm still learning new things about adsense and some of the blogs I started were not started for adsense. That's why i have many blogs with low average click values.
Sure, thanks for the reply. Also, a note on your click values: geez you are doing great. I am in touch with several publishers, their click values are average 10% of yours... So make the most of this excellent value you're getting, and do seize this opportunity. Best wishes!
The ads are sometimes random for a certain niche and some just pay more than others. It all really depends in my opinion.
I have lots of channels doing poorly. Doing this analysis though, has shown me what I need to focus on going forwards . My online time is limited, but now I can prioritise tasks
