* Can't post live links yet, delete the space after http:// * ok, I'm trying to rebuild my website, this time having adsense in mind from the beginning. I want to know if I'm doing things right NOW rather then later so I don't have to go back and edit 200 pages. Anyways, the links I post are just kind of a template really. None of the links really work ( with a few exceptions ) so I'm not really asking to rate my site, just the ad placements. Also, I will be changing the small graphics so that they are relevant, so those are just stand ins for now. Alright, this will be the homepage, the ads are in the lower middle content box: http:// quotevoid.sitesled.com/newlayout This will be the Quotes index page, the ads are in the upper middle, and middle of the lower middle content box: http:// quotevoid.sitesled.com/newlayout/quotes Edit: Thanks for moving my topic, sorry for posting in the wrong spot. This will be one of the many actual quotes pages, the ads are in the upper middle content box, and I have referal ads through out the actual content: http:// quotevoid.sitesled.com/newlayout/quotes/house So can you guys tell me if they are placed well? What could I do to improve their location? Is what I'm doing all ok with the TOS? Anything else I should know/change? Thanks alot =) Edit: Thanks for moving this topic, sorry for posting it in the wrong spot.
Your ads seems well merged in your page (maybe a little to well, could be misleading for visitors). On the home page, ads are in the lower half of the screen, maybe you could put them a little higher. But I guess you will know better with the time and the traffic coming on your site, good ads placement depends a lot of the use your visitors made of your pages (what interest them most, how do they read it...)
yeah, on the homepage they are placed kind of low, but I didn't want to put them first and then put the updates, because I figured people would just never end up seeing the updates. I guess I'll have to wait and see once I switch to this layout and see what works, but I will remember that. But I guess once I'm all done and finished, hopefully in two weeks or so, I will be able to tell whether or not I should move them around a bit. I really just wanted to know if I was going in the right direction with them. Like I said in the first post, it will be much easier to edit things now then at the end once I have all the pages done. Thanks and any other input is appreciated =)
Looks good to me, you could try a horizontal link unit under the main menu or a vertical link unit blended into a side menu. Create a channel & see which one works best over a period of time.
I'm not too sure about having a horizontal link bar under the main nav at the top =( I think it might detract from the look of the site. But the other idea sounds good!! Seeing as how my right side menu isn't very large, putting ads under the "partner" section might be a great idea. I'll try that out later and post back. Also, I've never used channels, I will have to experiment with that later. From what I've read on the board, is it just a way to track which ads are getting clicked? Thanks!
Yes, channels are for tracking purpose, the important thing is how you are going to use that data to improve you CTR, so tracking and testing is the only way
