Affiliate Program Start Up Best Methods?

    Hello,
I am in the process of setting up an affiliate program for my online store.
I am using Post Affiliate Pro for the program as it seems it will do all that I want.

HCG sells new and used video games, hardware, music, and DVDs.
I believe I will offer 4% of sales with a 90 day cookie.
This matches Amazon's offer plus many of my prices are lower than theirs.
Though they do have better widgets at the moment :(

As this is my first experience at running an affiliate program is there anything I should watch out for?

Should I be picky in whom I let be an affiliate or should I let anyone and everyone in to start?

Any other suggestions or bits of advice?

    Thanks,
    Ken

I can tell you to turn $0 to $1000. You just need to work consistently and regularly. The way is from affiliate marketing. You dont have to invest a penny to make money.

    I tell you the procedure.

    1. Create a blog from any free blog host like blogspot or wordpress. Blogspot is the best.
    2. Do basic SEO, that is popularize your blog through posting your blog in various social networking site, bookmarking site, forums etc.
    3. When some traffic is started generating then join an affiliate program like what i have joined is referforex.com. Sign up is free. Only condition is that you have to have a site of blog of your own.
    4. Promote your affiliate links there. If anyone sign up through your links, will make you earn commission.
    5. Earning would depend on the traffic to your site. Therefore regular work on SEO and make your blog popular as much as you can.

Also dont forget to update your blogs regularly. Rest things would follow.

Hope you got a good way to earn money online. So All the best!!!

Let anyone become an affiliate, make sure to have a referral program and then weed out the bad eggs later on, you don't want to deny the application for your future top affiliate.

you can join cj.com or linkshare or performics.com or some other also there.

you can advertise your site there. so many other will join your site and advertise your products.

after joining them let me know.

    i will advertise your products.

I also recommend Shareasale or Clickbank. But I think the commission paid for your referrals is too small :D

+1 for both ClickBank and Commission Junction.

High payouts, promotion, extra benefits, bonuses... all those things can attract potential affiliates!

Their share cuts into profits too much. I know that there is more exposure but it seems the affiliate would rather make that money instead of commission junction or the others. One plus is having direct links back to the site when running your own affiliate program. Anyone else here have success with their own affiliate not using a network?
