i get some domains at 1and1 couse it was cheap but now,i dont want to renew the domain they automaticaly renews my domain.Before the domain renewal date i couldnt find anywhere to cancel domain or delete domain..their control panel really sucks. i did canceled the paypal subscribe before renewal date.i dont know what will happen now.i dont want to pay the money.. i cant understand why do renew the domain automatically and there isnt any cancellation button on their control panel .. 1and1 users please help me . thank you
Yes, they have auto renewal system. If you discontinue to renew the domain then you need to set them up at https://cancel.1and1.com If you do not do this, the domains in your account will be renewed automatically.
Um? 1and1 isnt bad at all... Its not hard at all to cancel a domain. I'd also suggest that if its already renewed you pay it... If you don't they might come after you with collection agencie. Also ever think about just calling 1and1? they have amazing support! Last time I called ( 2 weeks ago) I ws greeted by and english speaker.
Well yeah i agree its a totally unfair way to make money,but thats why they can probabley be able to afford to give you them at such a cheap rate. There should be some small print there in the T&S stating the method of renewal. Ross

I had the same problem when I needed to cancel a domain with them but I just did a bit of research and found it. Also just shoot them a email they reply with in 24 hours normally. I don't have any complaints about them. They are 100000000x better than GoDaddy IMO
I use 1and1 and they are great. They used to be $6 per domain and now it's $9. The extra $3 makes a huge difference. Definitely made me clean my portfolio.

How much are the domains at 1and1? I had hosting and domain from 1and1 and they charged me double for it and never ever gave a refund. although this was 2 years ago.
i had cancelled the subscription by paypal before renewal date. they renewed my domain and send me invoice i sent a cancellation request after renewal .. they couldnt take the money couse i cancelled the subscription. i dont know what will happen now.. Renewal price is not much,i can pay easily but i cant understand why do they make a this kind of "hidden" things.. i searched the control panel an hour ..nowhere to cancel the domain.ahh it is here in an another panel.You will send an request exct..it is boring..
This is the company that you should drop, find a different company that wont use tricks. There are reason why they do what they do, is to keep you paying. Bad business practice.
I totally hate auto renewals. I know about them before and i was safe while dealing with them, as i deactivated it.
Ya, I think they are just too big and inefficient. I used them for a while. If your domain is up and running, they are OK, but try to make a change that is slightly out of the ordinary (or cancel your account), you will get very little help out of them. I went to Netfirms.
Yes they make it extremely difficult to cancel your renewal, I let them know what I think of that and I suggest others do to. I would never use their service again, even if they gave domains away for free.
