hello, I am having trouble understanding how to turn a PSD sliced up design to a well coded XHTML and CSS design for a website I have both PSCS4 and DWCS4 but whenever I put the images into dreamweaver and try to put the images next to or underneath eachother the images leave a "gap" in between the images. I am a complete newb when it comes to css and xhtml coding so if there is anyone who is will to help me out to understand how this process works that would be greatly appreciated. PM me or leave a message here Thanks, John
From PSD to HTML, Building a Set of Website Designs Step by Step Please see here http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=11302897&postcount=7
I'll suggest you to Buy HTML/CSS ebook from sitepoint, i started there as well, and it really worth every penny spent on it. They have described everything in detail, which make things easier to learn.
try using firefox's firebug add-on...i learned slicing and positioning images all by myself without any guides or books....thanks to firebug.
For newbies like you, I also suggest you buy books/ebooks to learn some basic at first . Thanks for sharing the FF addon.
You may find good post of converting psd designs to xhtml ready template at nettuts.com/videos/screencasts/how-to-convert-a-psd-to-xhtml/ and net.tutsplus.com/videos/screencasts/converting-a-design-from-psd-to-html/
I thought dreamweaver was easy to use... if you look on the adobe site, there should still be a tutorial... and if i remember correctly there is also a plugin that will convert your PSD's to CSS and XHTML
Well if you could teach me how to sdo this I would be willing to pay for some lessons as long as I actually learn. PM me if you are interested Thanks, John
