You can use Textbroker to hire writers of various skill levels/ prices and it's not a bidding site so you won't have to wade through countless, "Me can do at very cheap, okay? Yes, me do now start" responses :)

Try Suite101.com, they have a screening process to select their writers and have editors that correct and improve the style of writers, which means freelancers there tend to be pretty good at writing for the Web. You can also get a list of authors based on your topic of interest.

I personally like Odesk. I do believe though that this forum in itself is a great place to hunt for writers. Just take a peek at the links of the people who have responded to your query. I do believe they are freelance writers

I think Odesk is a good place to find quality writers. I personally have worked for many clients on that site.
If you are looking for a cheaper market then I would suggest getafreelancer.com or scriptlance.com.

I have had no less than 20 articles written on that site (oDesk). Each time crossing my fingers because some stoopid Guru swore by them... each time...BURNT! (yeah 20 times, I am an idiot...)

My best luck so far has been WF (poke around you'll find them, or PM me) and a phillipines site I will leave unamed.....

    Odesk=Ugh

With Odesk I had clear cut outlines with keywords, word count, themes, etc and not one of those folks could hit it without the 2nd post utterings of "me get you good article in 5 hour, no worry, i your man/woman" type of grammar.

    example:

    My thought:

"how to get a credit card with no credit history"

    Their interpretation:

"History no problem to get cradit card, just ask nicely here and thay will halp ewe"

    Yeah, spelling was a problem...

    terrible...

Worth $2.00 USD.....I dunno, I felt better about giving a Fin to a Bum on Elm St.....

I will probably have a hit on me tomorrow...oh well....just my .02 cents....

BTW I Right Cheep, Just Ax Mee?

I think you can easily get some quality writers at GAF [getafreelancer]. Normal charges for writing a 500 words article is $5: however, if you hire writers with no or less ratings, then you can get articles cheaper than $5.

Some other freelance sites are: scriptlance, freelancer.co.uk, getacoder, elance.

You can advertise at www.freelancewritinggigs.com (free) and jobs.problogger.com ($50/month I think). Those are two places that I go when I'm looking for freelance writing jobs.

What do you mean by "quality writer"? If you really mean it, then just OPEN your eyes and look around this thread "itself". You'll find many. Just go through their previous threads and research about them a bit. Look their i-traders and the feedback others had left them. One more thing, don't expect of getting quality articles if you are not thinking of spending at least 0.01/word.

    Cheers :)

Most sites have already been listed here. You can occasionally find people here that are willing to do the job, but too many here ask for cheap rates, and the result is always cheap work. I have found a few good people on Craigslist, believe it or not.

I've found quite a few clients based solely on my posts here. Instead of posting an ad and having to wade through a ton of "I rite gud 4 u 4 cheep" responses simply contact the writers whose conversational responses here (or on other forums) impress you the most. You'll save yourself quite a bit of time and headache. Good luck!
