I spent months building up my search rankings and when we are doing some maintenance the site when down unexpectedly for an hour and a half, now I have lost my rankings. It has has been 24 hours and still nothing.

When will google add me back?

well you should try to get it back ASAP, resend the sitemap, go check what Gwebmaster tools say about your site.

If you are taking you site down for maintenance it's a good idea to throw up a splash page that returns a 503 HTTP status code to tell the engines "Service Unavailable". They know this means you're down for maintenance and they'll just come back later.

But I've never heard of being down for an hour and a half causing a site to get deindexed. You can be down for a day and not get deindexed typically.

Why don't you give us your URL so that we can poke around and maybe help you out.

Hmm... I think that cause of your site is out of index is not connected with "site was down for..."?

Resubmit your site into Google and bookmark your site in major bookmarking sites, hopefully your site will get back to your old position soon.

sounds like bad timing, if google visits your site when its down without a proper error code etc.... then it may think you've gone for good and totally deindex you.

now your back up and running as suggested above, resend your sitemap etc... you'll be back in soon enough

I've just watched a google video, where guys (actualy a guy and a girl) talk about how this can not be a reason for a G ban, and how you do not need to fill out a reinclusion request, but you just need to wait, because they know how to deal with these situations

I don't think that google removed you because the site was down for a day, anyway they have a reinclusion request in the webmast er tools section

After a few days of stressful waiting AND after resubmitting my site and filing a reinclusion case (which was probably never reviewed), my ratings came back stronger then before. When the site was switched over it went to https, which could have also impacted it.

I think the main reason was because our security expert made a change to the DNS, so it could not point to another nameserver. This was probably the culprit.

Down time of just one and a half hours is just too short to get your site de-indexed.

The reason has to be something else but I guess, you will see restoration very quickly...if everything is clean at your end.

I would advise you to wait out a couple of days, before jumping to conclusions though....

    Regards,

I just found out that one of my domains had expired a week ago, and just renewed it. The domains was still in the Google index and all pages were listed.

If your pages are not listed then its different story, most probably ban for bad behavior.

Fix what you did and request re-inclusion.
