So my site is more or less up and running with multiple adsense ads. What next steps should i take to begin drawing traffic to my site? The site is dedicated to xbox modding and softmods.
You could also ask to link exchange with Xbox-related sites but it would be best to find out where they stand on modding.
How would i go about getting back links... Is it easier said than done? http://webpages.charter.net/tdiamond14
Write some articles on XBOX modding, then submit them to various article submission websites for free. At the bottom of each article (author resource box) you are allowed a link or two. Try and establish yourself as an expert, then people will trust your opinion and follow any affiliate links you provide.
A free way to do it for example, go to google and start search like this: (using the quotes) "add site" "xbox" "submit url" "xbox" "add link" "xbox" "add website" "xbox" "submit link" "xbox" "suggest a site" "xbox" "link exchange" "xbox" Hope this Help
Thanks @ Diego and all the others. I have now submitted links to a few sites, hope this will help my indexing. As of right now, i still am not indexed in google even though i have submitted a sitemap. Could a site like mine potentially earn money at all?
Not sure how long it will take, give it some time, you'll be indexed soon enough. As for making money, look into some XBOX affiliate programs, you could do very well with the right traffic. You could write an article on a specific MOD, then provide an affiliate link for people to buy it..You will make a commission.
You could consider using a limited PPC campaign to help draw traffic to the site. Low competition keywords can be leveraged at CPCs as low as 15c per click on engines like Google and Yahoo. Determine your core 5-10 keywords and focus on them. It may be worth doing a study to determine the demand for your content. Yahoo & MSN offer tools through their PPC interfaces that yield keyword statistics. Try becoming involved in forums and communities on the subject, like one of the prior posters said: provide value, become an expert, and the people will follow. It's all about providing value. Let me know if you have questions, hope I helped. http://www.spartaninternet.com - Corporate Internet Consulting
Spend your time putting good, targeted content on your site. Make it a site that has real value and real information. This can take time, but it's the only real way that you will reach critical mass. That's a great first step and also a good long-term approach.
Everyone here is really helpful. Keep these tips coming! Any tips on my page layout and look? I think its one of my weak points. webpages.charter.net/tdiamond14 Would a site like this benifit greatly from having a .com domain name? Or is this something i can wait on?
To be honest, I would settle down with the adsense boxes. ( Particularly this page: http://webpages.charter.net/tdiamond14/tutorials.html) I didn't feel comfortable at your site. I would make the site for the "visitors" not the money. ......or make it look like it at least and yes, spend the $10 on a domain.
