Hello everyone, I am proud of the following site since instead of borrowing scripts such as phpBB, I created this whole site from scratch: http://www.f3music.com/ I had to recreate a new site since my first site which had over 30,000 members was lost in a server crash that had corrupt backups. The saddest day of my life for sure. However due to everyone emailing me with their support, I worked hard on creating a new site from scratch. At a glance the site may not seem all that complex, but like MySpace, musicians can totally design their web page (expect without all of the bugs and other harmful crap). Plus I just recently finished the forums: http://www.f3music.com/forums.php I gave it a phpBB2 look since I always liked that style, but it is completely custom. Instead of mods, users have their own tools to ignore users, report spam, etc. It even has BBcode, javascript smiley inserts, friend list, private messages, the works. When coding my main priorities are security, speed, and easy to read clean php code. I also have a thing for simple pages instead of tons of scripts that cause browsers to crash or load forever. I hope that you like it and thanks for reading
I'm not really following the navigation of the site and how and why you have things in a ranking system, but combined genres..and there is no explanation of how things are laid out...or why things are ranked the way they are. I also assume that this site promotes Indie artists ? You need to make that clear to visitors so that they know what you are doing, or offering. People are very simple and if they don't get it, or have to guess what is going on..... they will move on. Don't assume that people will get it. When I landed on your site , I had no idea of what it's purpose was. Are you offering music downloads ? Is this a music blog or magazine ? What kind of music is it about ? With so many different styles and genres of music, you cannot just use general terms without signifying what kind of music you are talking about. I have a couple of music sites and read more than a few daily, and if I didn't understand it, imagine how confused that average surfer will be.
i think that a music site should have some brighter contrasting color scheme... right now it is more like a business site.
Clean design and nice color scheme. Add h1/h2 tags to improve onsite SEO. The non-www version could be redirected to the www one to improve your seo even more. Good luck
Nice site...dear, template is good...I like green and white color combination.... Page Rank is also good...can you gives option to posting any site....in your site.. __________________ SEO Services
Thanks a lot everyone, I wasn't aware of all of the replies since I only received one email notification. To hmansfield, thanks for your input, yes it is an indie site and it based on the navigation of the old MP3.com site back in that day that all of us indies loved. That site was bought out and totally revamped to suck and that was when I wanted to offer my members their own more reliable music site without ads shoved down their throats.
I understand the fine line. You should be aware of new users as well. You don't want to leave them out of the loop if they have no clue about the old sites existence.
