Just a quick question before I delve into many many hours researching everything possible before starting in..... I hate working at a minimum wage job, if anything because it's "minimum wage" and I know my skills and abilities are above that. If I worked truly hard at this, even putting in 40 hours of dedication a week into it like a real job, can I make real job money?
sure you can make alot more... 1 problem i see from reading this form is.... well atleast it seems, 95% barely make a living and along with that 95% of what you read on this form is wrong but what can you expect when the majority of what you read is posted by those barely making anything. now i wont say you cant learn from this form, you just have to figure out whats right and whats wrong and accomplishing that can take some time. so if when you spend 40 hrs a week doing the right thing you make money, if you spend 95% of that time doing it wrong you barely make it
Higher paying jobs are greater motivators, and area always placed at high priority than low paying jobs. Thats how the economy works these days, so we have to adjust to how the economy and market conditions are perceived by a marketer.
I'm just assuming there are people who get into this type of business and only spend an hour or two a day doing the minimum and don't get paid very well. But I would spend a long time doing hard work AND working creatively. I'm very entrepreneurial so I can think of good ideas and do research well. If I could make at least $1500 a month I'd be very pleased and well off given my current situation.
If you are working for yourself and only earning as much as you would at a "real job", you are doing something wrong.
it will pay you if you are doing adsense the rightway.. you need to have knowledge on how the adsense system works in order to earn..you can learn a lot here in DP if you will do a research and become successful in adsense..good luck
Yes.. one of the biggest skills I have is I have the ability to research (why companies SHOULD hire me but don't) things to death. I would have no problem working one of those so called "real jobs" 40 hours a week. Something where I can make more money. The problem is just getting a job, getting a good interview etc requires almost a college degree by itself. It's very frustrating.
@VomeroSwoosh - If you worked 40 hours a week at this and you're a reasonably quick worker it all depends how much you do yourself. If you're not outsourcing a small site is probably going to take you about a day to write and another day to promote. That's 2 days invested per site of your time ( of course you could spend all your time building and promoting authority sites but that's another subject )... so let's say you build 2-3 sites a week and average $1-2 a day per site ( let's assume this for the sake of this post ). 3 sites a week at $1.50 a day average = $4.50 a day or $30 a week. Assuming averages are maintained these earnings have a residual compounding effect. Maintain this rate of building and promotion ( 3 sites a week ) after 1 year you would have 156 sites. Assuming each site generated $10 earnings a week at the end of Year 1 you would have a residual income of around $1560 a week or over $6k a month. Adjust these numbers to work out what given averages would end up earning you. $1 a day average across your whole portfolio would equal $7 a week per site. If you had 10 sites you would make 70 bucks a week If you had 50 sites you would make 350 bucks a week If you had 100 sites you would make $700 a week $1 average earnings a day across a portfolio is NOT a big ask. Is this worth your time? Well, it depends what value you place on your time. If you outsource elements of it you can ramp things up a lot more quickly. Dean
I quit my day job. To be honest, i'm earning 5x more than my day job. One thing though, to be a successful freelancer, internet marketer, online biz owner, you have to be dedicated and hardworking. Excellent time management will make you go a long long way.
Sheeet, you can just discover a gold mine in 5 minutes and cash in 3k in less then 30 minutes. Is that possible? Yeah. Is that going to happen? YOU tell me. Now, let me tell you this: since i am a full time IM, i work my ass off more then 12-15 hours per day. That is when i am working cause i surf alot, travel a lot and have a fun life. But when i am working, I AM REALLY WORKING. 12 hours straight? Happens a lot too. More then it should. Understand Adsense concept: Content + Serp's = $$$. As long as you do just that, you will be fine. I've sold a report i wrote a few weeks ago - "Adsense Ownage" - that teaches exactly that: how to work flawlessly to cash with adsense.
scubita is right, when you are working for yourself you live or die by your own sword....financially anyway. That's a big motivation to work longer hours vs the perceived security/comfort of a job working for an employer. I would not recommend pursuing IM/niche marketing etc full time to anyone who didn't have a passion for it and also willing to really work at it. I'm not preaching here, just saying don't do it for the wrong reasons ( i.e. believing things will come easily ). Dean
IF one can make 1$ per day with Adsense, he surely HAS THE CHANCE to make 25$ per day with affiliates. Just learn how to grab those clicks and drop adsense.
