HomebreWare - Screwing Affiliates Again

The new HomebreWare owner is at it again...

They have added translations for different countries. Several of the links eliminate the affiliate code.

I am about to change all my links to a competitor. I can stand this kind of BS!

No wonder I got no sales from them, that's really stupid of them to screw the affiliates, I'll be changing my codes as well.

Well just make sure to bump it every now and then so everybody knows that he's a rip off. I'm sure there are quite a few affiliates on this forum

Where are the translations to other countries, I don't see them? The page looks the same way it was before

BTW, I don't really think the new owners are trying to screw someone over, I think they're inexperienced and that's why are having these issues come up.

EDIT: I got in touch with the old owners, they said they thought it would help the new owners if they put a page in a different language, however, once they saw what this is causing, they have removed the pages with the extra languages. They apologize for the inconvenience caused.

    Hi,

This is Rick, I am partners with Brian. We sold homebreware to the new guy. First off , he didn't even know about the translator being added. I did that thinking I was helping the affiliates. I had no idea that it would cause this problem. When Jim emailed me it had only been 2 hrs since I added it. I took it down soon as he told me, and even offered to send him some money out of my paypal to make it up for my mistake. He never emailed me back. Once again, please don't blame the new owner, he is a really nice guy that has only good intentions and willing to do whatever he needs to do to help out. That's all I was doing on my own accord. I understand Jims' frustration, and I have told him I'm sorry.

Are you going to send me the money I lost from your translation tool?

I talked to bonkerbids, the old owner, and he has been great about changing everything back. I think they were truly trying to HELP the product AND affiliates, but screwed up in the process. This combined with the bandwith outage earlier was beginning to make me leary.

After speaking with them, I am confident this was just a good plan gone bad, and I am also confident in keeping my promotion with them.

I hate to point fingers, and hate to call scam right away, but this DOES hurt affiliates, mistake or not. I understand the new owner is learning the business, but maybe (just a suggestion) he could run any planned changes by other people (IE the former owners, top affiliate, etc) before implementing them. That way, maybe potential issues like this could be stopped.

Again, mistakes happen, and Rick has been VERY helpful, honest, and up-front about getting things fixed. I am 100% confident in HomebreWare being "good" for affiliates at this point.

And please note - I did not write this do to bonkerbids offer of PayPal money to me as he posted in the thread, I did NOT accept that, nor did I expect it as that was not the point.

As I told Rick, for me, I may have lost a sale or two - for PPC affiliates, they lost money out of pocket.

Once again, I do trust their intentions but maybe doing a test site or something first would help before making these changes.

I can vouch for Rick (bonkerbids) as being an upstanding and honest businessman!

Mistakes do and will happen; it is the rapid and diligent response in addressing the issues that counts, and this new problem was dealt with quickly.

p.s.: Remember, W4G had a translator too which worked perfectly well. At 1st glance I wouldn't of thought it would cause any tracking issues either...

    First prize will be 500.00
    Second prize will be 200.00
    Third prize will be 100.00

Thats on top of a 75 percent commision for a affiliate program that far out ranks any other for keyword wii

More details to be announced soon. This is the second contest we have had and the first was a great success.

Well the thing is they screwed the affs with that decision, I was about to launch a PPC campaign for this product, to test the waters on the niche, but i think I'm going to try the other competitor product. sorry. Thanks for the warning guys.

Guys, please do not hold the recent issues against HomebreWare. Rick and the crew over there are by far some of the best at handling affiliate issues etc. I honestly feel horrible about starting this thread before giving Rick more time to respond to my email.

I truly believe he intended to help affiliates, not hurt them, and when I contacted him, he fixed the issue within 2 hours and sent a legitamate appology.

Rick truly seems to value his affiliates and their opinions.

We have many A+ vendors on DP, and Rick is truly near the top. I feel 100% confident in my decision to stick with HomebreWare, and would feel just as confident recommending them to others.

I gain NOTHING by making this post, except perhaps, some more competition. I simply feel bad by the headaches I have caused them by jumping the gun!

Taraff1 is right, Rick is a very good vendor and a good person, I communicate with him a lot, and I can tell you that he is a honest person, and he wouldn't do anything to hurt the affiliates.

He made a mistake, it happens, he fixed it right away, after a couple of hours, no big deal, this shouldn't be blown out of proportion
