$65 Logo, Business Card and Letter Head for Auto Repair Company

Hello DP,

I need a design for a logo made, including a logo for a Auto Repair Shop.

The client wasn't really specific as to what he wants it to look like, so just give me your best shot or a couple of different ones to show him.

The company name is: Ed's Motors
It's a LLC, if you want to include that in the logo/business card/letter head.

It's an auto repair/wholesale dealership facility.

I am thinking two sided, but one sided could probably work too.

The winner will be paid with paypal. The client is in no hurry, but he would like to get this done in a reasonable amount of time. I'll keep this contest open for 5 days, so I would like people to post their designs. I'll end it as soon as the client finds something he likes.

Tightwad: I can't wait to see your entries. I've checked your portfolio and i must say, some reasl nice stuff.

Nemesis: The client is looking for more of a "web2.0" feel to the design of the logo. The logo will be used for branding/advertising/and to build the webiste, so try to make it as prominent as possible.

Hmm.. I didn't see a wrench. Just a big E. But yeah, the client didn't like this. Like I said, he wants something more web2.0ish.

This is my favorite so far, though I want to wait to show it to the client because the name of the company is "Eds Motors" not "Eds Motor" Also, can you change the slogan to "Complete Auto Repair" instead of Auto Repair Shop.

Personally I don't really like this one because of the old car and the very simple letters, but I'll show it to the client in a little bit and see what he says.

Everyone, don't be afraid to use effects, gradients, shadows, and what not to make it look nice. The client won't like really simple stuff. Again, this is for a business and the logo will be used to brand it, so he really wants it to be memorable and unique.

(side note) was really quite surprised that you never saw the wrench
and only an "e"...

 

Hades : maybe u should focus on the black area of Tightwad logo design instead of the blue colors. And there you'll find what Tightwad mean..

 

Just thought of giving this a try. I hope Tight won't mind that I used a wrench in my design since an 'auto repair' shop would usually be associated with a wrench. Here's mine:

 

Hey Guys,

I've sent the new designs to the client and I will see what he says. For now, I'll just give you my feedback. (I mean, do you guys want my feedback, if not I won't write it anymore, but if you do I'll keep doing itwhile I wait for the client)

I like the text in this one. Though I am not feeling the icon thing it self.

I'm really partial on this one. I like it, but at the same time something doesn't click for me with it. I don't know what though. I think it's best to see what the client says.

I kinda like this one though I think I would like it more if the circle with the "Ed's" in it would be on the side instead of the top. Could you make that little adjustment?

This one has my favorite text out of them all. I like it. The icon on the other hand I am not to sure about. I don't know if I like the little sun looking like thingy. But the letters are definately what I would go with, though maybe in different colors (or maybe even the way they are now, cause I like those kinds of effects).

Anyway, I'll wait to see what the client says and I'll get back to you everyone. I think, at the rate we will be going, we should have a winner very soon.
