175 Clicks and Only $20 -- I Need Your Help!

I have a few sites that used to do very well with google adsense, making about 50 cents each click. That was the average. Until the last few weeks or so, my average click is about 10 cents, sometimes even less than that.

I promote the sites with Etology and usually brings me lots of clicks. If someone could please help me with this that would be great. I will send URL to whomever can figure this out for me.

Some advertising niches have seen a big drop off in advertisers which results in lower payouts.

Quality of traffic is also a big factor. Traffic that clicks ads but don't buy or convert for advertiser (compared to other publishers running the same ads) results in lower payouts to the publisher (smart pricing).

If you're running 3 ad blocks, try reducing the number - this will usually results in higher payouts.

 

This is a very helpful reply. thanks a lot. I noticed that my ads on my supersmallcars blog have a higher payout. one time there was only 2 clicks and I got less than $2. I hope to promote my blog even more. But right now the contents are still pretty raw. I have yet to improve a lot of things.

Anyway, I notice that depending on the advertisers the rate could be as high as $2 per click or so I heard somewhere.

 

I agree on the "traffic quality factor" issue. If you getting too much "tirekickers" traffic then your earnings will start to gow down..that's why targeted traffic is so important...besides with a slow economy advertisers are not willing to spend as much as before in Adwords.....

Ad revenue vary for several reasons. If ur site traffic is low then payout will be low, pagerank doesn't matter. For a site having 10k+ hits will earn 10 times more than a site having 100 hits for a click. Another reason is important, traffic geo location. US clicks earn more than other geo click.

Unfortunately, etology is not a good niche and the economy is severely penalizing some sectors.
Did the way you refer visitors to your site change at all over the last few months?

 

you should be happy that you could get more than many people here. I often hear some people complaining they got 100 but only got a dollar.
you could consider changing the niche or do what people said took adesne ads off for the few days and put it back on you would get higher CPC. (I have never done this though)

Good to know this once again. I have heard it before but never implement it. I guess it is the time for me to do some change and see how my adsense earning can be improved.

 

Choose a high paying keyword .
Because i got $15 in 3 clicks and you are saying 175 Clicks and Only $20.
If i got 175 clicks then my earnings would be 875$ per day.

you are still lucky buddy. i am getting 700+ clicks and my earning is around $9 a day.

 

I need 100 clicks to get $20. I guess keyword factor rules here. You should consider to use different keyword who pays you better
