    Hello Guys

I Do believe it is Good to Have secuirty, and Punish The Scammer,

But I See That, It's Unfair for PayPal To Hold People Money for 180 Days?

i am Talking about The People who Only went aginst OTS, But Never Scammed AnyOne.

    What for??

If someone Went Aginst OTS Then Simply Close Them Account, Return Them Money If Things is Ok.

I Think PayPal Hold Poeple Money for Only 2 Reasons

1- Make it Generate More & More

2- Hoping Other will forget about it and Let it Go, I Believe There is hundered Done so.

    So What You Think?

Yes its a good feature but if they can shorten the cooling off period then its more better.
This feature can prevent the seller to run after scammed innocent people.
It safe guard the welfare of buyer.

It's not fair, i've had funds locked into Paypal for 180 days before - it could be worse though, they could take your money altogether!

They claim that the reason behind holding your funds for 180 days after locking your account, is that anyone who made a payment to you can do a chargeback on their credit card up to 180 days after making the payment - obviously Paypal don't want to take the risk of this happening and then having to chase you for the money, so they just hold it in your account - if someone files a chargeback during the 180 days then Paypal will reverse the money from your account.

Get into a policy dispute with ebay and see the power of paypal.

    Example:

Ebay member gets suspended for keyword stuffing. When member returns - closes his ebay stores.

Response: 1 Year suspension. The silly person files appeal.

Response: Banned indefinitely. Paypal account frozen.

They'll play hardball. You've got to walk the line...
    ====
P.S. This happened to a friend (a very hard-headed person).

Unfortunately, Paypal has the monopoly over this business and there is nobody to threaten them out of their leadership position.
It has complete freedom to frame the rules so as to give itself a maximum protection, even if it is at the cost of its customers!

After all, it is fully aware of the fact that its online customers have very little alternative!

    yes

    Thanks Guys for Replies

    But As Munnaa Said

PayPal do not stop fraud like they pretend they are

everytime i had account, sometimes i get scammer who send fake Money

And PayPal Only Give warning after Shyt Happened

I Don't think that 180 Days is only to make sure no one complain

I Think they simply TheievesOnline that is all

because they do not use to have telephone system, and they forced by the the law to provide it

I Think MoneyBooker and AlertPay are The Best Options

    What Yall Think?

They hold it for 180 days so they can collect interest on it... think about it- a few bucks from half of their millions of users for 180 days adds up to millions of dollars- a LOT of money can be made on that money in 180 days!

I always think Paypal sucks. They just keep holding the big money and deposit into the bank for collecting higher interest, no other reason.

    PayPal Play Games

first They Always Ask Money Sender and Make what They CALL Investgation

If The Buyer Gives Ok, He used the service or Bought Items

    They Stilll Hold Your Money

IF PAYPAL IS FAIR BANK, AFTER 180 DAYS IT SHOULD GIVE YOU
YOUR MONEY PLUS THE INTEREST THAT THEY MADE OVER YOU MONEY

In business world $1 within 6 Months Can Make Up to $1000

So Where is the Justic from PayPal?

I Have No Idea Why Do We Still use it

I Think Reason Number one PayPal is Number 1

    because we always say so
    because it supported by ebay

Other Than That, All Alternative Provide The Same Services, even more Options, and More reliable too
    such as AlertPay - MoneyBooker

I am trying to Stop USING IT AT ALLLL In all my Business

Because the Only Way for Them, is to start lossing leadership

DO YOU KNOW there is New Payent Method, i believe it is been done by ebay or paypal just for people who got locked up, so they can get locked up again

    It Is Really Shame

Paypal holds for 180 days because 180 days is the Visa and Mastercard liability for a credit card transaction. A customer can make a chargeback on their credit card for 180 days past the point of a purchase. Paypal just decided to use the same length of time for all of their own transactions to keep it simple.

Now why do they do it. Basically, if they find a particular transaction or an account to be potentially fraudulent, they hold the money to protect themselves. Based on the number of people who use VCC's, and people from unsupported countries that get into Paypal, I'm surprised they aren't harsher on their risk management. Just check this forum, you'll find hundreds of "My country isn't supported, but I signed up, and now my money's on hold..." threads. Situations like this make this whole system more difficult and sensitive for everyone. Apart from that, there's no real verification of the people using Paypal. Since Paypal doesn't know who they are doing business with, they hold funds really quickly, which is the fault of the way their system is setup.
