Hello all, After the success of having our logo designed here at DP, I've decided to hold another contest; this time for a web header, which somehow incorporates our logo. The following links will take you to our "theme", which as you can see uses the colours blue, green, and white (although white is just an accent): http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/6804/lactopwithlogo.jpg Ultimately we are looking for a professional-looking, eye-pleasing header. The header does not have be the entire height of the dark blue rectangle, since it's just a "starting" point. You can also manipulate our logo any way you like, as long as you try to incorporate it (either the seal or the banner, obviously). The web address is the entire name of our club followed by .com. However, please do not mention the name in your posts. For your convenience, here is the same image without the logos: http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/7172/lactop.jpg CONTEST DETAILS: End date: Tuesday, April 28. Payment: $20 USD via PayPal Files Required: .PSD File(s) Thanks and good luck!!
Hi A1, Thanks for your entry, this is a nice start! Perhaps you could change the font (I don't seem to like it).. and shift the text to the right more (getting rid of the triangle where sample is). Overall a nice entry though! Looking forward to seeing more.
I tried to keep it simple because simple is more business like in my opinion , so here you go , FeedBack Would Be Nice. http://hostedimage.com/images/0nrw1t721lr07uzso4n.jpg
Hi Lipgut, That looks pretty cool! Yes, I agree, simplistic often adds to a design rather than detracts... and you've done a good job balancing it. Could you try moving the logo up and to the left slightly so that the gradient wave does not cover it? Perhaps you could also add a slogan on the right side (just a placeholder slogan since we don't technically have one yet, haha). Overall, nice work.
thanks for the feedback... here is the banner with some changes nice to work with you... if you want any changes please let me know... thanks again
Hi everyone! Thanks for all of your entries - looking good so far! I also should add that you can also change our background colour to suit your design if you like (i.e., outside the table) and the header height as it is not "set in stone" yet either. Feedback: ----------- A1: Thanks for your modifications. I'm still not feeling the font or triangle where "Sample" is. With respect to the text, it might not even be the font but the rather the colours of the text. ----------- Bizzard: This is a very nice entry. Nothing is coming to mind when thinking about how to improve it... Good work! If you have other ideas or concepts, feel free to submit another entry. ---------- Lipgut, Thanks! That looks better. Could you try making the waves "pop" a bit more? For example: ----------- Nelo: Thanks for your entry! I like what you've done with the text colours and that you've tied in "accounting" with the stock images - but perhaps you could move the logo to where the stock images are (I do like stock images sometimes, but in this case, I think it's best that we minimize their useage). You could also try removing the URL from the footer area, as I think in this design it detracts from the overall presentation. ------- Once again, thanks everyone! I really appreciate everyone's design talent... wish I had it! Good luck to all!
Bizzard, I actually just thought of something. Could you add a white stroke around the slogan banner... I think that might look nice and tie everything together. Sagarika, Thanks for your entry! I like the gradient on the footer.. but I'm not fond of the font or left side of the banner. Perhaps you could rework these so they "flow" together more? Thanks!
Hi everyone! Glad to see lots of entries.. definitely talented designers here at DP. ------- Sagarika: I like the waves in your last entry, as well as the footer and gradient on your text. Something still seems off with the left side of the banner with the logo. ------ Nelo: I like V5 the best out of these as it seems to flow the nicest... now if you like you can resize the text to make it smaller and more in proportion to the banner. ------ Bizzard: I really like this concept, and think it's my favourite so far! I'm not sure there's much else to do with it.
