Just a quick question Has anyone ever given up on Adsense and what was the reason? And could the adsense model sustain 1000's of us earning say $100 per day? Do we really believe that there can be unlimited wealth for EVERYONE? Dr N
Of course it can, if no-one pays for adwords there will be no adsense as adsense pays your a percentage of what the advertisers is bidding on any keyword. Google arent paying us, the Adwords advertiser is (In effect)
I started off with grand ambitions of retiring on adsense earnings but soon realised it wasnt going to happen. I use the adsense earnings to pay for all my hosting now and make my money with affiliate programs.
Who gives up adsense, that can give up anything..it's not hard, you can make money with it and you don't work hard at a factory..
Well you can easily be terminated at any time so I wouldn't depend my entire life on making money off of AdSense. I'd always like to have some sort of backup or real day job to be honest.
- Given up on adsense completely?? - No - Given up on adsense for some of your sites - Yes I have many sites. On few of them, even after lot of works and experiments, I could have not figured out why they are not doing well with adsense. Sites were getting high traffic and I expected good earning from them. So I decided to try few other progframs like chitika, I would say it was a complete falliure. Chitika didnt make $10/month. So I moved on to Casalemedia's CPM ads and BINGO... It worked. Basically the theme of the sites were somthing that is less attractive for clicks. people are less intrested in ads and even PPC is very low. but with high traffic, CPM worked very well. So I'd given up on adsense on those site, while my other sites are doing well with adsense.
I give up on adsense everyday when my earning goes down....but then an hour later, i start earning something, so it keeps me inspired to keep trying. So no, i havent given up on adsense yet
it can sustain if the advertisers are making a profit on their investments if you give advertisers useless tarffic, they stop advertising and you won't get paid...
I've been trying to monetize a site with 50K views and 10K uniques a day for ages now and BINGO. Thank you!
If AdSense isn't working, try using some affiliate programs or CPM programs if you're lucky. The reverse works as well, affiliate programs don't always work on my sites, so I set AS to show 90% of the time, and aff links when there're no AS ads.
I can see someone who has a site related to web development and seo becoming discouraged with adsense quickly. It is harder to get clicks from visitors that are webmasters and seos who never usually click on ads.
