I am not sure about those trying to pretend to be from the USA. With the current economic crisis that is substantially USA's fault, I guess it won't be much longer when outsourcers will want to pretend to be from some other country instead. Also if you are traveling, try not to tell others you are from USA for safety sake.

haha!! LMAO! well said.. well i dont support people lying about their place of residence. Its just that most of the foreigners get rejected from getting hired since they are not from the States (some say they dont speak good english, some think its scam, some think they are not reliable etc) I dont think people should be judged by their race or place of birth; if they have what it takes, if they are talented then they are good to go.

And as wisdom said, economic situation sucks in States now ..

:p:D now this is true but really hilarious!

the LIAR i posted about is probably not oscar greenwood although he did mention Oscar as a name, I think its fake.

Unless your oscar lives in el paso, and has a gun in case of a TIGER attack. And used to live in California but went to a school called "Alumni" with no mascot and has a keyboard that types double ? marks (one upside down)...

    its not the same guy.

don't forget to add people from the UK (they charge the MOST)

but it's because we have higher costs of living. and global economy makes things different

    2£ (UK) = $1 (US) = 40INR (India)

    (above are approximates that fluctuate)

DEGREED engineers in an IT position in india only make about 12-15k USD...which would be considered poverty in the USA. We have a mandated MINIMUM wage of aroiund $7 USD an hour, that;s about $14,500....thats what we pay to people with NO EDUCATION, SKILLS or EXPERIENCE!

Dude, I don't care what ANYBODY says...this is one of the most hilarious threads I've read here in a LONG time!

Excellent work! I feel the exact same way - I have no problem hiring overseas people to do work...but for God's sake just TELL ME THE TRUTH!

This is gold...it really is. *continues laughing

Like I told the last guy... who goes to a job and does not get "interviewed"?

In there mind it always seems like I am chit-chatting or small talking with them when they contact me, but I am really INTERVIEWING THEM to see what kind of person they are

I have to give a stranger access to my servers, code etc, and sometimes they ask for payment up front (I rarely do that)

so yes, i want to know about them, they should be happy to tell me all about themselves.

But then something doesn't add up, and then I go from interviewing to "testing"...and if they fail...I can't work withthem

How can I work with a liar...if you will lie about a little thing like where you live, won't you lie to me about work you did or did not do?

EVERYONE KNOWS majority of outsources don't want to WORK, they want just enough to get by and have a tendancy to "disappear". So why would i hire a liar

I would not...and I suggest you do not either

A word to freelancers...if you are from the bottom of the sea...say that. the truth gets you a lot farther than any lie will.
