There is no text for banned sites, but your PR may or may not remain after you are dropped from their index. I doubt that it was the sitemaps that caused your ban as Google doesn't ban sites for their sitemaps no matter how bad they are. It may have brought other issues that your site was having to Google's attention. PM me your domain... I haven't heard from any of my clients that their sitemaps have caused them harm even though I hear it often in various forums. Maybe I can help.
I have not seen a site banned, but my traffic dropped after submitting a sitemap for a shareware site I run that showed all my content to google, not just the linked stuff.
How often was your change frequency? Skodie: Google limits you to 100 links per page, Msn or Yahoo limit you to about 150 links... Your homepage has 193 links.
If you do a query in google for site:www.yoursite.com and it brings up no results then you are banned. Unless you have a brand new site in which case you may just need to wait a week or so.
I don't know for certain that they banned you for that, but I do know that it is twice what they suggest you use as a maximum. I usually don't see many sites using that many links and it caught my eye. Your site is not 'themed' for auto-banishment so you are most likely banned for some other reason than a 'bad' theme. The Google Webmaster Guidelines will tell you exactly what they look for at a minimum (or maximum) from a site. It may contain Googrules about things that I haven't caught about your site that are hurting you.
Sites get banned for hidden text, some porn links and adware or spyware automatic downloads. When you are banned, Google usually notifies you as to the infraction so you can correct it and let them know you have done so.
Another reason maybe your website is "too optimize". I mean we can have a top 10 - 20 rank in just a few days by submitting our website into several bookmarking directories.
Your site is sandboxed. Just wait for a month or 2 and you will get over it . And by the way, You can do whatever optimization you want to do and add unlimited pages to your site now. Its the best time to optimize your site. Trust me , i had a Sandboxed site which is doing mighty well now .
If you submit a complete sitemap to google sitemaps, then google knows all the pages on your site, where as before google might have been reading dynamic urls &blah?stuff=... and thinking they where unique pages. So the number os pages in the index may go down (as well as up) after submitting a sitemap.
I had dozens of pages indexed in my site and as soon as I started using google sitemaps, the number of indexed sites went down to 2 and its been siting there for weeks now... Yahoo and MSN both are showing dozens of pages indexed....I blame it on sitemaps.
I have some sites with thousands of pages... would you recommend that use google sitemap or not? Thanks Paul
The indexed pages went up for my site after submitting the sitemap. I don't think it will hurt your site.
