I dont know whether this is the right place to put my question... Whatever, I think you guys from DP will surely help me out. Ok.. So I did some SEO for a guy and he paid me through paypal. Now after a week, he has asked paypal for a reversal, because, I havent "done my work properly" And unfortunately I have no proof to show that I did the SEO So in case, he wins the case and Paypal reverses the payment..then what happens if there is not enough balance in my account for the refund?? And for my safety, I have also removed my CC and Bank info from Paypal. Can someone please help Thanks
Well, sorry to hear about that. As a customer, I did ask Paypal for a reverse because I did not hear from the vendor at all but the vendor was given a reasonable time frame to respond before the funds are reversed. That happened in my case but I am not sure if that works on every case. In any case, we had the issue resolved and got him to keep the money. Basically if you do not have sufficient funds in your account, you will be requested to fund the account for that amount in question. If you do not pay up, your Paypal account would be terminated and you will be black marked. Paypal is not at fault here and it should be a matter which you and your customer should work with. That's just one risk of doing business and there is not much you can do about it. Just fund Paypal for that amount and be done with it.
you already lost this case, paypal will place limit on your account, you won`t be able to receive or send payment, if you want paypal to remove limitations add funds from cc or bank or send check or money order to cover negative balance, there is nothing else you can do, i was in similar situation once
This is the problem with virtual goods or services. Contact PayPal explaining IN DETAIL the situation and hope they will favor you.
Yes, exactly, thats what I want to know, what happens if I have a negative balance in my account? What can paypal do after that? Thanks for the help.
Blackmarked meaning that you will not be able to use your existing paypal account until you pay the outstanding amount. You cannot create any new paypal account. Any incoming funds would be frozen.
Since you had your credit card attached, they may have enough info to report you to credit bureau if you do not pay the funds within 2 months (I think it is). These cases are rare though, but they will usually send your debt to a collections agency if you do not pay and then they will try to harass you and try to get their money back. If you ignore them they usually cannot do anything, but in rare cases, it may show up on your credit report.
Delete the cc and bank info without closing your account? In any event, if you have a negative balance with paypal, they will send you an email telling you to fund it quick. If not, they will put in motion such things as collection agencies, lawyers, etc etc etc. That is all explained in the email. Take your lumps, fund your account for the expected chargeback. But then, if you explain to paypal about this, they may not let the other person do that.
