nofollow doesn't pass on pr but is still counting as a backlink.

better ranking for keywords, no influence for pagerank.

I hope inbound links from Anchor Text still considered an important factor but it is not single factor to boost up SERPs.

If the page is a no follow- then users can still follow your link to your site, however google and other search engines will not "count" your link and it will not help your SERP rankings.

Anchor text for inbound links is one of the most important factors in search engine optimization. Keywords within the anchor text are also useful from links pointing to your website

Yes, you will still get the backlink but google or other search engines will follow unfortunately. The anchor text are the best.

As long as a link back from any site with the keywords you want to rank for is hyper linked with your link, you will get some substantial benefit. Not PR benefit, but maybe serp wise if it is an authtority site, and it will also improve your site's keywords targeting.

I'm not sure if that's correct. Check out this Matt Cutts video about nofollow:

Googlebot will not crawl nofollow links, so you will not get any backlinks from them.

We can only make guesses on this issue. The truth is that Google and the other search engines know what they consider in their crawling algorithm and they will not let us know.

nofollow don't give you a backlink so no better pr. but still can lead to some decent traffic

    Hello,

I think that Google take in consideration nofollow links because some of them are listed in the google webmasters account, where you can upload your sitemaps, in the list of backlinks you can find both nofollow and follow links to your website.

But, nofollow links should not increase your ranks or pagerank, that's what I read on the internet. :)

It is possible that nofollow back links increase the rank of site but google don't follow those links remember that.

Does anyone really know? Google makes changes all the time.. Maybe they will change the no-follow.

Of course they would add some weight to no-follow links as most websites these days are no-follow. Otherwise you could spam just by having lots of do-follow blogs yourself.

I dont think it is as simple as some of you think.
