How many main keywords should i be targeting... And what kinda of keywords. Im trying to get a Legit, Safe pharamcy online and thers so much illegal stuff out that thats being spammed im not quite sure what to go after. thanx
Ideally you should be targeting 3 - 5 phrases per page. Some people prefer 2 - 3 phrases per page, but that is more for when you are relying on onpage seo factors as well. If you are relying more on backlinks, you can target many more keywords per page. For that niche, you will want to start out by targeting low competition keywords that don't get much search volume. It would be quite difficult to get rankings for the more competitive pharmacy keywords.
It does depends on the focus of the website, just make sure you focus on the very best keywords first.
Actually most pharmacies online are illegal. But since they are hosted OUTSIDE of canada and the US they get away with it for a time. They sell Idian and Coutnerfit drugs, masquarading as "canadian" to the point that the few Legit Canadian Pharamcies have no chance. And the do spam, to the point you can use the word "DRUG" or "Pharmacy" on comments and certain forums cause right away they flag them as spam. Its sad, because Americans REALLY have a great opportunity on saving quite alot of money safly and legaly. But its so hard to tell which pharamcies are legit and which ones are not because they all say they are legit, and many write lies about things like "Because we ship from a country that has no rules you dont need a prescription". But IMPORT laws in the US state that they CANNOT Import them w/o a script. or my favourite "We will write a prescription for you" which is ALSO illegal. ... But how do you compete ... How do you even FINd the non-competative key words?
I like the idea "to start out by targeting low competition keywords that don't get much search volume. It would be quite difficult to get rankings for the more competitive pharmacy keywords" What is the reasonable volume for us to get start?
There are a few tools out there. Micro Niche Finder is really cool, but I use the manual method. It's painstaking, but free! Just need to be creative.
I optimize pages for no more than three keywords/phrases total, usually more like one or two. Try to work in your most important keyphrase organically into either your page title or the title of the article (the two can be different). Work the keyphrase into an H1 once or twice on the page. My secret for not making the H1 tags ugly for visitors: I use H2 for article headers, and I use H1 for subheads. I adjust the size of the H1 using CSS, so it's actually smaller than the H2. That way, I can work in keyphrases organically that do not necessarily work well as either page titles or article titles. Example: keyphrase I'm SEOing for is "blue left-hand widgets are off the hook", but I don't want to use it as a page or article title. I use a size-modified H1 the in the body of the page to say "blue left-hand widgets are off the hook", repeat it organically in the text, and Google loves me.
Google's tools are as good as any. You don't want to go for words that get too few impressions. Even if you are #1-5 on page one you still won't get all the clicks. Only 60% ever click and only 25% click the top position and it goes down dramatically from there. Do the math and see what's worth your time and effort. Some of the uncontested keywords are uncontested for a reason.
Strongly agreed! I received lots of such junk mails a day. I am not able to take it any more further. No matter why you do they have way to get in... Come back to keyword density, it should be about 4-6% if I am not wrong.
