Hi All, I tried Blogger and twitter recently to enbed links back to my site as an experiment, then search through Google to see which one is more efficient. Surprisingly, I had though that Google would find the backline in Blogger much faster, Google found the link in Twitter just in a couple of hours, but have not found the link in Blogger for a couple of days by now. Anyone did the similar experiment in the past? Would anyone explain the reason, because it does seem very logic to me that Google could not find the link sooner in its own blog.
Honestly I don't know. I've never tried Twitter. Sorry for the useless reply, but I just wanted to ask if Twitter was indeed useful for getting backlinks to your site? I'm a bit skeptical, but if it works I'd like to give it a try.
Nope. Links from twitter are not useful in search engine rankings. Way way back before bio section in the twitter profile sidebar helps in getting a solid backlink from your profile page. But when the Big G found out about it, Twitter changed that links to nofollow.
Google doesn't index blogger blogs every day, I think only once a week. To get your blog indexed faster just post it up on Digg and other social bookmarking sites. I don't use twitter though, just was never a fan.
Doesn't matter how fast twitter links get indexed they are not useful for SEO. Use blogs if you want to get dofollow backlinks from relevant content.
Nice strategy. By using twitter your gaining more and more traffic for your blog and your blog at the same time ranks up on search engines...
Yah, Google do not index any page everyday. Probably I should give a few more days and see if the link in blogger will be picked up by G.
