    i have been doing it and get the link back but if i posted 30 comments ,its only one or two which are appearing in back link results.

    That's a very useful method of gaining links from .edu sites. By the way is it really true that google values .edu or .org links a lot more than normal ones. I have heard this many times but with so many SEO myths out there I am not really sure. Anyone had any positive experience after gaining a few .edu links??

    @imran - the backlinks take some time to show. Also, were your comments insightful, otherwise it is pos.sible that some comments were marked as spam or deleted.
    anw - not too sure about .org , but .edu is valued higher, partly because of the extension itself but more because edu sites are generally authority sides and have high pr.

    Also some universities give their students free host. If you are a university student ask hosting from you computer centers.
