Hello everyone I am new here! I have just started affiliate marketing and started with google adwords. I had all keywords set at 8-12 cents and as most of you already know the keyword prices there have went through the roof. Out of 48 keyowrds only 2 are currently active and 46 have min bids as high as $10. I can't afford that and want to move on. Those of you who have google adwords what are you doing in this situation? Going to another PPC? I was thinking about trying yahoo or Msn adcenter. How are the keyword prices there compared to adwords? Cheaper or about the same? I was also looking at several smaller PPC sites but the ones that I see require a deposit fee. I am looking for a PPC site that is cheap like google ($5 activation fee) and takes the money out of credit card instead of having to have money in an account. Does anyone know of any PPC sites like this? In the meantime I will continue to search here and soak up some knowledge! Thanks
with adwords it's all the game of CTR, if you are at a min bit of $10, it doesn't mean that it will remain the same, what you actully pay is decided by your ctr of keyword and adcopy. so if initially you are paying much and getting click, it mean they are eventually building up your ctr. it might be a bit costly initially to stand up against the high bidding but if the quality of your ads are good all the investment will pay off for you; considring a longer run. But if you are not planning some thing for a longer run better go for overture, because there you can simply bid and attain position and there is no funda of CTR. so being a starter it might be a better option for you.
the numbers guy is correct. For adwords, it's your placement is based on bidxCTR. And your min bid starts out high until they know what type of volume you do and how well your CTR is. Since you're just starting, I'd highly recommend going slower on ms adcenter to get the hang of it. The bids are lower but that's because they don't have nearly the volume. THe point though it to test out your keywords/ads, and refine them until your ready to step it out to YSM or adwords. Starting out on adwords can be risky. Good luck.
