    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

HOW the heck does he get all this traffic to his site????

Is this site owned by that other webmaster?

If that figure is right, and it isn't a glitch, which I doubt, the webamster of this one is advertising, buying traffic. Plain and simple.

There is no other way to get that many hits.

Adwords cannot even possibly come close to giving a site that many hits.

Sure, he may also be doing affiliate marketing, but as an advertiser myself, and having more experience in this, I know he is mainly advertising.

So, your question should be: Where is he advertising, buying traffic?

There is no way to find that out. Well, next to asking him, that is. heh.

His traffic spiked to around 100,00 in less than 60 days, if not 30. That tells me he put a hell of a lot of money into advertising! Perhaps both off and online.

During that spike, getting affiliates, and having them do their job takes a hell of a lot longer than that, so that rules them out.

If he did nothing but text ads, you could do a search just on the name, first world platinum offer, and then possibly see that way, but he probably has image ads.

It's just a CPA offer! Clearly coming from affiliates. Adwords doesn't like squeeze page landing pages. There's no way he gets 11k+ each day from AdWords. Think about it. There are many CPA landing pages that look exactly like this that have similar Alexa ranks and Quantcast stats.

    Take for example:
    nextmillenniumcreditcard.com
    centennialoneplatinumoffer.com
    firstoptioncredit.com

Not to mention, have you read the Quantcast page carefully?? Look at the "Audience Also Likes" section... coregmedia.com, coolsavings.com, eatandshoponus.com, etc., etc. All of this screams affiliate promotions! It's probably an offer that pays well and gets huge conversions, so it attracts all the best affiliates.

IM 101 is now in session...

That section is what other sites visitors go to also. It has nothing to do with affiliates, or affiliate promos.

So you dont think that for example people on the opt-in email lists of Freegiftcardsnow.com, Mypoints.com, Brandsurveypanel.com, EatandShoponus.com are being sent over to the credit card site?

Possibly. I don't know. You are talking about tha section, right?

Quantacast put in those sites that are similiar. That's all.

Type in, say, askmen.com. Then go look at that section.

    See what I mean?

But, keep in mind that he got a 100,000 hit spike in a very short time. That is, if that figure is correct. That can only be done mainly through advertising.

Sure, he may have affiliates, and, maybe doing e-mail lists and bulk e-mail, but I know it is mainly advertising.

You guys think the webmaster would purposely buy bot traffic to push up the traffic rankings??

    That is an estimate.

This is from that page you linked to:

I used quantcast for a little while, and to be accurate, the site owner has to install a tracking tag on the site. Since that profile says "estimated", the owner of the site does not have the tag installed.

And from previous experience, quantcast is usually WAY off on the estimates.

estimate too high or low you think?

I know their network of sites receive about 1 million hits per month so that is why i though this traffic was realistic
