geo hosting location does .co.uk override resulting damage?

I have a few sites that are hosted in the uk, I have recently bought some space from a American server. The American server is two thirds cheaper and doesn’t charge additional fees for SMTP mysql databases.

All the uk sites have a .co.uk domain name. Would it damage my search engine results for the uk sites if I move them to the American server. Would the .co.uk domain name tell google.co.uk that the site is meant for the uk therefore taking away any damage from the site being hosted in America?

My guess would be No. If you have a .co.uk domain you will be found in your local UK search results.
