    I agree, I find this the best way to start off, find the best and most active forums in your niche and start posting good content, really it's the relevance of your responses which will allow traffic to flow back to your site.

    Not sure about how the avatar can help, can you provide suggestions/tips?

    Avatar helps for branding. Basically users have a picture to associate with your site. So next time someone see a superman like logo with a B in it they know it is from Balkhis.

    Or a Big Red Y they know it is Yahoo.
