Hello, I'm a photographer and I'm looking to create my portfolio online, is there any possibility to automatically import the images from flickr into a website, synchronizing the comments and tags etc...
Before you solve this issue, how are you going to build your portfolio online. I would suggest Wordpress and then using some sort of flickr widget to import your images into your blog. Since both are popular, there should be a widget out there? (takes a bit of searching).
yeah i have been searching, but unfortunatelly design is always too much, i want it as clean as possible.
Have you tried portfolio wordpress themes? There are clean ones (it takes more time to find them) Clean Space: http://www.teknobites.com/2007/08/30/photoblog-themes-for-wordpress/ Others: http://graphpaperpress.com/2008/06/02/f8-portfolio-theme-for-wordpress/ http://www.smashingtemplates.com/12/10-amazing-photographer-website-templates/
I agree with the other posters that you should give Wordpress a try. They have quite a few photo gallery plugins that will work well with any theme you choose.
Personally I really like some of the Flash Template sites. The problem is they are only good if you are using local and offsite promotion. They just don't have the code needed to do well in Search Results. Take a look at this one as well http://www.studiopress.com/demo/album.html
I used wordpress for my photoblog... I synced it all up nicely pulling from flickr and my own pix too.
