I used an article distribution service and now I'm no more in Google...

I don't want to say it's 100% certain that the articles are the cause of the disappearance of my site from Google index, because you never really know.

But I was ranking +/- 12 for competitive keywords and some days ago I used an article distribution service. They wrote the article (it was well written) and submitted it to more than 350 sites. Two days ago, I started to see the article poping in google.

Today, I checked my rank on google and my site is nowhere to be found!!

Please note that my site is not in english, the article was in english but with the anchor text in the same language than my site. Also, no word rotation has been done when distributing the article.

Any idea? Do you think those articles could really have hurt my ranking?

I thought those kind of things were impossible.. Mainly because I could do this to my competition to remove them from google index, no?

I'll update this thread if my site is back.

I think it happened because you got too many backlinks in short period of time and triggered the spam filter.

Yes, this is what I also think.

But will my site be back in Google one day or is it burnt forever? How does the "spam filter" work?

If it's gone forever then I'm really going to buy the same article distribution for my competition!!

That's pretty normal, especially if your site is less than 1 year old. It could be because you got too much backlinks with the same anchor text. Don't worry, try to build backlinks with various anchor text and after a couple of weeks you will be back in the game.

It happens all the time and there might be various reasons. I have just found out that one of sites that had 16 pages indexed in Google has only 2 now.

And I have only been doing link exchanges with PR 3 - PR 4 and natural link building. (not anything aggressive)

Anyways don't worry much about google if your site was new, with low authority I'm sure you weren't getting too much traffic. If you site is out of google's index then your articles are still there :D

I got pretty fed up lately with some of my sites being de-indexed or even worse (a nightmare) ranked on the 10th page when I've wasted months of work..

Relying on google's traffic is pretty tricky sometimes. I'm not saying SEO doesn't work or your shouldn't be optimizing your site. But try to get other sources of traffic as well or PPC.

    Cheers

    Best of luck

    Al.

That's true. This is why you should always diversify your sources of income online. Having a few independent sites is a good start ;) Sometimes PPC is just not an option. Just because you know SEO doesn't mean you will be successful with PPC.

no, article distribution will not hurt your ranking. if you submit the same article on too many sites, some or many might get trapped into Google duplicate content filter but there is not penalty for your own site. whats happening here is google dance in my opinion as your article started to get indexed and backlinks started to get pointed to your site. give it a few days and see how it goes. too early to tell

Many people don't get it. The frequency of how you build your backlinks is so important with Google. It is better to build backlinks overtime. Manually build backlinks are better, especially for new sites.

This is not a fresh site. As I said, it was already at #12 in SERP for competitive keywords. It already had some good backlinks. And now it's nowhere.

I really hope it's only a "google dance" or anything else temporary!

i understand its not a new site but ranking flactuates if there is more than usual volume of link building happens. if you usually have 100 backlinks a month, then all of a sudden 350 article submission might be a little fishy. i would suggest you to keep up with the link building pace

Its becuase who ever you used to submitt your article to 350 sites did not do it manually.
I think they used an auto submitter and your links came in too fast.
I only ever go 80 to 100 submitts at a time and once to twice a month.
    Keep link building slow.
Do other things to, not just article subs.
