why? why does it make that big difference.... I notice that having keywords in the domains in my field seems to get you ranked much better no matter .org.net or .com .me is that for another country or US ?
Almost all domains have the potential to rank highly excluding lower end domains such as .info but sometimes even .info domains rank highly. If you have a paid domain such as .com .net .org .me .us .in .eu and etc. You have a good chance of ranking high if you have unique content. Using free domains such a .co.cc most likely will not get you any where tho.
buddy...m using free domain for my site n itz juzz around 2 months n juzz chk my alexa rank..> itz the content n backlinks that matter more i agree domains too to some extent..!!
Perhaps but free domains are not good for business. If your not willing to spend a few dollars on a domain then how would one know you are legit and your business/website is there to stay?
Although I prefer .com, .net & .org more, but other domain can actually perform better with good relevant backlinks.
The thing is will it rank well in US/google or just Montenegro What I guess I am asking is if I go to google could my potential domain rank well ?
If you are a good SEO then you would able to rank free blog, .me, .info, .biz.. But if you are not a good SEO then you would not be able to rank .org domain.
Search engines view all domain names like each other. Every single domain name and website can be optimized and promoted professionally on the internet for high rankings.
Domain name extention don't mean nothing to search engines. IT's all about the contents and backlinks. Country based domains such as .co.uk, .fr etc tend to do well for GEO.
yeah you can get it to rank the reason that .com is preferable is for customer retention, a person is much more likely to come back to a .com site, and there is a level of trust associated with it as well.
It can rank either way... Google really just looks for backlink strength and, assuming someone is logged in, context weighting.
Google does not give preference to extensions. If a searcher is type dog food they want to give him the best result based on what other people think (backlinking related stuff). Jack
