According to me, Windows XP going best because of good speed in PC. But Windows Vista need very high speed PC and lot of disk space. My all software is working well on Windows XP as compared to Windows Vista. But Please give your Opinion about it. Thanks.
Yes I agree with you. Window XP is better than Vista. In vista lots of problem occur and it needs high configuration and speed. Without these Vista can not work properly.
I have never used Vista but I have seen a lot of friends being unhappy with it. Windows XP is the best thing right now and it would be better to go to Windows 7 when it is officially released.
I hate Vista.... Actually, I bought a PC with Vista at the time Vista was introduced. There were lots of problems with software incompatibility (probably they already improved this - or did they?) and I had to switch it back to XP. Moreover, Vista sucked up lots of computing resources. Don't bother going with Vista.
On Some aspects Xp is better, But with New Machines and Hardwares [ Ram, Processors, Gfx Cards Etc] Vista performs pretty good as well, But my recommendation would be to wait and directly go for windows 7.
If you have a normal computer, XP is the way to go. If you're using over four gigabytes of RAM, the 64-bit edition of Vista is the way to go. XP x32 is better than Vista x32 but Vista x64 is better than XP x64. Most people still use a 32-bit operating system and XP is the route that they should take. I've always disliked XP and I was running a combination of Linux and Win2000 before Vista came out. @Windows 7 comments: If you have an older computer, Windows 7 is going to act similar to Vista. If you have a newer computer with the required components, Windows 7 will be a nice upgrade.
Vista looks like it sucks up resources, but in fact, the more resources you give it, the more it will use it for things such as cache for SpeedBoost etc. I will be replacing my hard drive with an SSD shortly to accomate the fast facilities on vista. The system requirements for Windows 7 is slightly higher than that for Windows Vista becuase so many complained about it being slow with the current Vista specs.
XP is more stable and Vista is more resources oriented where it took up a lot of system resources. If you want to go for Vista, please buy a high end system to cater this. Thanks
I agree, although I use windows vista now, cause some games aren't supported in windows 7 yet, so I am waiting
Excellent advice and that's exactly what I recommend. In fact, if XP is working fine for you, don't even worry about "upgrading" at all - wait for Windows 7 SP1. I didn't move to Vista until SP1. I like the sidebat and all the eye candy but it gobbles up resources and my hard drive was grinding for the first month all day long as it applied updates. The best advice is to stick with what works for you. XP is hard to beat!
It's hard to say that XP is better than Vista. If Vista wants memory, feed it memory and it will work for you!
Been using Vista for more than 4 months, I must say that I'm satisfied using Vista over XP. Vista is running fine on a my machine that have 3GB of RAM and I don't see any major issue happen so far. All the programs that I had run in XP also run fine in Vista. For me, Vista is better than XP if you have a good machine. If not, just stick with XP. - Dynashox -
I only have a 32 bit version of Vista. Having a 4GB or more RAM is just wasting my money. - Dynashox -
