Anger - How will you handle it ?

    Everybody feels angry at some point of time.What do you guys do ?

    When i can't control my anger, i hit the wall as hard as possible. I know its bad, but i got addicted, this happens atleast once in a week. Got this habit 5 yrs back. Now i am dying to stop it.

    Whenever I feel that I'm about to lose my temper, I do deep breaths. It works for me.

    You should start counting 1-100 if you get angry. By that time your anger will subside.

    That is very old and effective technique ;)

    For me just close my eyes and trying to forget that matter on which feels angry :)

    Usually I just get over to quick to even realize that I was mad. You just can't let yourself get angry that often, its not a good way to live your life.

    It is not a technique, but every time I am pissed off, I have to scream at somebody and that somebody is usually my loved one.
    This makes her angry...which in turn forces me to switch off my temper and look for ways to cajole her! :eek:

    How I wish I could switch off my anger....just at the snap of a finger though! It does cost me a lot...at times. :mad:

    I get angry just for 10 to 20 seconds.. lol.. and after that i don't feel angry..

    And also i get angry only few times... most of the time i am happy..

    Deep breaths works for me too. I dont get angry all that often though, Im a fairly calm person :)

    Two things that can really help you in controlling anger are:

    1. Meditation - If you do meditation everyday, your mind will be peaceful most of the times and you will not get too angry. It really works.

    2. When you are angry, try to divert your attention to some positive thing (like some good event or a cute kid in your family) so that the negative energy is replaced by positive energy. This is difficult to implement but you need to remind yourself everytime you feel angry and this will start working. Sometimes, when you immediately think that the other person is not really at fault or you would have done the same if you would have been in their shoes can also help. :)

    when i get angry, i try to calm myself by closing my eyes and think of some good things that made me happy...:)

    But very rarely i get angry....:)
