Currency improvement via launch of new 10 rupees coin in India

NEW 10 Rupees COIN in INDIA

RBI last week announced the dimensions and structure of the new 10rupees coin in India which is going to be out in this year 2009

So this now 1/4th or Quarter Dollar or 25cents coin in terms of approximate valuation in USD , launch of 10rupees coin to be out soon

I guess this thread is first report news on any forum or blog ever after annoucement, searched google its no where, i just saw in television news today and then checked RBI website, but nowhere on google yet

So wait for this 10 rs coin to be launched soon !

 

Apparently inflation is getting out of control in India also.

ya i hv one of such coins ..its pretty cool...
all i knw is that if we start recycling such coins out in the market we cld earn pretty higher than its denominance value of rs.10

Maybe he is mistaken and talking abt 10 paisa coz he says he wants to recycle it umm

 

RBI has issued Rs 10 coins in the past too.

However, I think, those were special coins and and were created to mark special occasions.

I have seen a Rs 10 coin too, but that was more than a decade back.

Because RBI is clearly saying that its first time to be launched & if at all if there has been something , i cant find the pics also on the internet , if you have seen and by chance if you have any pic please post

Also if you see the new to be launched pic is also not available on internet but i had seen it on NEWS CHANNEL Star News and they showed the design it will have golden circumference ring at the edge and silver in middle. looks like a EURO coin as seen on TV

Check out the link of RBI which you have posted it clearly show the coins and notes issued so far and Coins are on left side and highest denomination is 5 only

May be they might have discontinued or single metal , What I am talking is launch of bimetallic 10rs coin which looks like EURO , here it is

This is what was shown on STAR NEWS a week back
Definately when first was designed in 2006 so on the coin its embossed as the discovered date but to be fully available in public in 2009 only

 

i m heared this type news 2-3 month ago that india launch 10rs. coin soon.

If you look back towards your gradparents's time, they had Rs 10 coins then i believe. I may be mistaken, but i think my grandpa has one too.

I'm not too sure if i like the idea of a Rs 10 coin though... it's certainly going to push the Re 1 out of the running (if it isnt out already)
