.... he went to a college and murdered a young girl. That must be those "christian morals" he kept talking about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTzvaXWiZDE The "hypocrite" tag on my blog is getting awfully full.
It is clearly those christian values that drove him to those killings! Christianity should be outlawed in this country! Thinking about it, Tim McVeigh was a marine, and it was likely a military mindset that cause him to blow up that building. The Marines and the military should be done away with! Furthermore, Bill Ayers helped bomb all those government buildings because of his liberal values! Liberalism should be outlawed!! Additionally, our government has imprisoned innocents without warrants because of it's obsessive need to control everything! The Government should be done away with! I'm with you now man!
It's interesting that you would infer that i was claiming his religious beliefs caused him to become a murderer when i deliberately made sure i didn't say anything which could be construed as that... perhaps that was a Freudian slip on your part.
You are right. My bad on the misread. It actually makes my entire response invalid, so please allow me to respond here. Life is full of people commit acts that oppose their professed beliefs. Pro-lifers who bomb abortion clinics and kill people. Anti-war protesters who go to war on the government and kill people for their cause. You point out that Tony is a christian implying all Christians are hypocrites because Tony is a killer. That argument could be equally inaccurately applied to any of the other groups i mentioned above. One person does not define a group. I bring you back to my example of racial slurs. You seem to have a hard on for the religious, which makes me wonder if you were perhaps once sodomized by a priest or something. Now would be a good time to stop and take stock of the fact that many people are sodomized by the non-religious as well and perhaps your case had nothing to do with religion at all. Perhaps it had something to do with the way you dressed. Perhaps the priest felt you were coming onto him. Who knows. My point is, bad things happen to people from all walks of life, from people from all walks of life. Quit being such a bigot, learn to forgive, try and look for the best in everyone, and you will be a lot happier. Peace out! P.S. Vote Democrat!
He sounds really crazy. But it's not really his fault, children brains all around the world are being messed up by their religious parents with the approval of governments, this is a never ending story.
Tony was clearly having a mental breakdown, centered around his religious delusions. He had decided to project his feelings of being pathetic on atheists, and was on some sort of manic quest to defeat them. I don't know what this says about Christianity in general. He could just as easily fixated on hate of Communism or gotten violent over his football loyalties. So Tony the obscenity-spewing hatemonger is not necessarily a reflection on Christians, although the ideology and rhetoric obviously appealed to his warped mind. Then again, the next time you hear some self-righteous yokel damning people to Hell for having different beliefs, ask if he does not sound a bit like Tony and the many others who have slain in Jesus' name.
This is not right stOx, to use a sad killing like this to further your point. This is not about Christianity, people will cling on and become fanatics of anything when they're desperate. If atheists are as smart as they strive to be, they should have noticed he was acting out his issues and reached out in a nonjudgmental way before this happened. This is sad, not just because it happened - but because people are not understanding of other's problems even after it has become obvious.
it is certainly sad, a young girl had her life stolen by a crazed lunatic. as for tony, well, good riddance to useless shit. He was obviously mentally ill, what part his religion played in that lunacy will probably never be known. But when you get called an "evil animal" by someone who then goes and murders a gifted young girl in cold blood, it's worth pointing out the hypocrisy.
stOx- I don't think his religiosity caused this insanity. I think his insanity caused his religiosity. Not that that is a gleaming example of the virtues of religion.
If he were a Muslim certain people would be jumping all over this incident saying that it's another example of the way Muslims are... But these folks would never jump to that conclusion about his Christianity.
