Will moving my content around harm my site SEO wise?

I have a site that I list daily finds on for each month. At the end of the month I move the finds to their own page/section of the website. Will moving my content around harm me SEO wise?

    Examples:

Page titled - Aprils Daily Finds ( these are all on 1 page )

April 1st - pull tricks on your friends today - get some great ideas at this web site ( blah blah . com )

April 2ed - What a beautiful picture of these cubs being born ( picture posted )

April 3rd - See this fabulous lady shocked Simon on Britains Got Talent ( youtube video posted )

OK so that is an example - then come May I would move April 1st over to the section of the web site that is for jokes and tricks

April 2ed would go over to the section for beautiful pictures

    and

April 3rd will go over to the video section.

I am not archiving them by months, instead I am doing it by subject. So April 2009 once all content is moved will be deleted.

Is this OK - SEO wise?

Not a good idea. The URL of pages must remain constant.

If you do what you suggested, the old URL will return a 404 error when you move the content. This is not a total disaster - Google will simply reindex the new pages - but it does mean that the first month of SEO gets wasted every time. There might be other repercussions, though.

What you should do instead is list the LINK to each page under its appropriate category at the end of each month, but without changing the URL.

Blogs are perfect for this and do it pretty much automatically - have you considered using Blogging software to handle your content? It's better for SEO and it will save you all the hassle at the end of each month.

What I would suggest is that you post the item in it's category/subject first so it has a permanent URL inside it's category. Then have your April page simply point to each item in their categories. That way you won't lose any link juice you get if someone gives you a link to a specific item.

Yes fully agree and even if you dont want to categories it
Just show on your Home page like this

    January
    links
    links
    links
    Feb
    links
    links
    ..
    ..

This way as mentioned by freelist your URL will be permanent you dont have to move and just keep adding on top with a NEW MONTH
