Google Paying $240 Million for Twitter

Discussion in 'Google' started by gary101, Apr 17, 2009.

Google is reportedly in "late stage negotiations" to buy social networking site Twitter in a deal valued at $250 million (£170 million).

Not sure if it's a good deal at that price?

This news emerged late last week or early this week but has been largely denied by both sides. It seems that a potential partnership is closer to the truth. Twitter is also apparently talking to Microsoft.

I'm not posting a link because a simple search returns dozens of results.

Thats like two cents in Google's multi billion dollar balance sheet. Twitter is on fire and they are buying them at the peak, its a good buy for Google.

I agree that this seems to be a good buy for Google. I personally would have rather seen Yahoo or Microsoft make a play at Twitter...

    Hello...

In "talks"... and just a "bid" if it where "true", and even then its to add advertising not "own".

This is where MSN should butt in and cough up double the bid again to keep google from
becoming "The Internet"... Regardless of whom claims the prize , Good luck to both sides

Looks like we are well on our way to become Google's slaves. Google is becoming a super-monopoly.
